Yesterday evening, Bar Wrestling announced the complete match lineup for their August 23, 2018 show, Not Bad for Tourists, at American Legion post 241 in Baldwin Park. The event will feature six matches and be headlined by Brian Cage versus Flip Gordon in their second ever singles match.
Brian Cage and Flip Gordon’s only other singles match took place on May 13, 2017 for Limitless Wrestling in Westbrook, Maine. Brian Cage went on to win that match. They also met in a four-way at Austin, Texas based Wrestle Circus in August 2017, which was also won by Cage. This will be Flip Gordon’s debut for Bar Wrestling, and his last independent match in Southern California (outside of any potential PWG appearances) for the foreseeable future due to an exclusive contact with Ring of Honor.
Bar Wrestling was notified earlier this week that Xia Brookside, who was originally scheduled for the event, would not be able to appear due to contractual obligations to WWE. She will be taking part in the NXT UK television tapings in Birmingham, England this weekend. Brookside has been replaced on the event by Katarina Leigh. Katarina Leigh will be teaming with Taya Valkyrie and the Killer Baes (Heather Monroe and Laura James) to face James Ellsworth, Joey Ryan, and PPRay (Peter Avalon and Ray Rosas).
Ethan Page will be making his return to Bar Wrestling, having previously appeared at Bar Wrestling 7 in December 2017 where he was defeated by Brian Cage. At Not Bad for Tourists he will be taking on Brody King in a first time meeting between the two wrestlers.
Rounding out the show will be DoomFly (Eli Everfly and Delilah Doom) versus Luchasaurus and Super Panda, Tyler Bateman versus PJ Black, and the RockNES Monsters (Yuma and Kevin Martenson) versus Scorpio Sky and Watts.
Tickets for the event are available now at Brown Paper Tickets and are $25.00 for presale and $40.00 at the door. The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. and will later be available for streaming on the Highspots Network, PowerSlam TV, and Bar Wrestling’s Pivotshare channel.
