Bar Wrestling has announced the lineup for its seventeenth event, Not Bad for Tourists, taking place on August 23, 2018 at American Legion #241 in Baldwin Park, California. The show will feature the returns of James Ellsworth and Xia Brookside to the promotion, plus Flip Gordon’s Bar Wrestling debut.
James Ellsworth made his Bar Wrestling debut at their February 22, 2018 event, February Stars, when he defeated Joey Ryan to retain his intergender championship. He has recently been making appearances in WWE after a surprise return at their Money in the Bank PPV on June 17, 2018.
Xia Brookside made her first appearance in Bar Wrestling at the November 9, 2017 event, Head of Household. On that event she lost to Tessa Blanchard. She returned to Bar Wrestling at May 17, 2018’s Aunt May, where she defeated Joey Ryan. It was recently announced she will be competing in WWE’s 2018 Mae Young Classic.
Flip Gordon will be making his debut with Bar Wrestling, and his only appearance for the foreseeable future. He has recently signed a new contract with Ring of Honor that will limit his independent wrestling dates in the United States (outside of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla). Last month he made his last appearance in PCW Ultra for the time being as well.
Also scheduled for the event are Brian Cage, Ethan Page, Joey Ryan, Killer Baes (Laura James and Heather Monroe), Luchasaurus, PJ Black, PPRay (Peter Avalon and Ray Rosas), RockNES Monsters (Yuma and Kevin Martenson), Scorpio Sky, Super Panda, Taya Valkyrie, and Violence Unlimited (Tyler Bateman and Brody King).
Bar Wrestling held its debut event on June 8, 2017 and has run monthly since that time. The events are standing room only with a full bar with a party like atmosphere. Not Bad for Tourists, which is a line from the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, will be the promotion’s seventeenth event, and sixteenth at the American Legion #241 in Baldwin Park.
Tickets for the event are available now at Brown Paper Tickets and are $25.00 for presale and $40.00 at the door. The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. and will later be available for streaming on the Highspots Network, PowerSlam TV, and Bar Wrestling’s Pivotshare channel.
