Lucha Underground held it’s most recent set of tapings this past weekend. We have the latest updates from the tapings, but be advised, there are heavy spoilers for season four. Click to read today’s Lucha Underground update.
Lucha Underground was back this past weekend with television tapings on March 9, 10, and 11. This was the second to last set of tapings for the fourth season of their program. They will be returning with one more set of tapings on March 16 and 17, which will include their biggest show of the season, Ultima Lucha Cuatro.
Eli Everfly and Chelsea Green were back at this weekend’s tapings. Eli Everfly lost to Brian Cage on Saturday’s taping.
Jack Evans lost to Matanza Cueto (Jeff Cobb) and then was sacrificed and “disappeared” so it looks like he might be done with Lucha Underground.
The biggest story coming out of Saturday was Marty “The Moth” Martinez winning the Gift of the Gods title then later the Lucha Underground title. Dragon Azteca Jr., who had won the title on the March 1 taping, interfered in one of Fenix’s matches, leading Fenix to attack him. Then Marty “The Moth” Martinez was able to defeat the already injured Azteca to capture his title.
Later in the taping Pentagon Dark was in a triple threat match with King Cuerno and Mil Muertes that Pentagon won. Immediately afterwards Marty “The Moth” cashed in his Gift of the Gods for a shot at Pentagon. Marty, with help from Chelsea Green, was able to get the victory and become the Lucha Underground champion.
Later on Saturday’s taping Pentagon Dark won another three-way to get a future shot at Marty “The Moth” Martinez’ title when The Mack (Willie Mack) interfered and attacked Mil Muertes.
The Rabbit Tribe is now Paul London, Killer Kross, and Mascarita Sagrada.
On Sunday’s tapings Marty “The Moth” Martinez had his first title defense, defeating his sister Mariposa (Melissa Anderson). This was said to be really good.
They setup a “Sacrifice Match” between Johnny Mundo (John Morrison) and Matanza Cureto for Ultima Lucha Cuatro with the loser getting sacrificed.
Lucha Underground executive producer teased a cage match at this weekend’s tapings on social media. On Sunday they had a cage match with Mil Muertes beating Willie Mack.
Tickets for the last two tapings for season four will be made available sometime on March 12.
