AOW LIVE
Elks Lodge
May 28th 2016
Twentynine Palms, Ca
Good morning and happy Memorial Day weekend So Cal…Mike Draven back at you with a recap of the action packed Alpha Omega Wrestling event from the Elk’s Lodge in TwentyNine Palms, Ca. We kicked off the event with a 10 bell salute in honor of Memorial Day as the stars of AOW stood on the stage to pay their respects.
Your commentary team for this day’s event is none other than “Stepdaddy” Roscoe P. Tucker & “Hot Lips” Lonnie Laguna with yours truly as ring announcer.
‘The Veteran” Rudy Luna def “The King of the Streets” Mondo Vega with a Double Arm Submission in a solid opener.
Your next match would be “Pretty” Peter Avalon facing the AOW Desert Champion Ryan J. Morals who was accompanied to ringside by The Blind Many Army (Andre Machievski w/Blindman Mike Chapman). Avalon would ask for the mic to simply challenge Moral’s manhood and asked that this match would be for the AOW Desert Championship, with Moral’s refusing. Avalon would get the crowd on his side and asked “Stepdaddy” Tucker to make it official, but he informed that its states in Mr. Moral’s contract that he is the only one who can decided when to defend the championship. Avalon with the fans help did the old “Yes/No” argument with Morals until he accidentally said “YES” to the crowd. Peter Avalon was able to GOAD Ryan J. Morals into a championship match.
AOW Desert Championship:
Ryan J. Morals (w/”Blindman” Mike Champman & Andre Machievski) def “Pretty” Peter Avalon as the referee was dealing with Blindman, Morals delivered a Low Blow followed by a pinfall to successfully retain the championship.
“Golden Heart” Drake Fortune would come into the ring to address the crowd for the injury he sustained from the Kings of Suplexes (Blake Grayson & Anjul Stone) and announced that he would be cleared to return to action on June 18th. Fortune would also mention that he did some soul searching while being on the shelf and felt that it’s time for a new direction by paying tribute to his family, so he announced that he is to be no longer known as Drake Fortune but as Mathias Starkey.
K.O.S. would come to the ring to talk about the victory over Team Hi Def at the Cauliflower Alley Club event in April and that win guarantees them a Tag Team championship match verses Team Hi Def any time, any place. Starkey would say June 18th would be the time & place but K.O.S. wanted to cash in their opportunity tonight & since Starkey isn’t cleared they asked about putting the third person of Team HD in the match as their manager Ashley Grace would team with “The High Flying Sensation” Steven Andrews. Just as K.O.S. would look to continue to put Starkey on the disable list, Andrews & Grace would come out to even the odds and Starkey would agree to the championship match later tonight.
Fatal 4 Way Match:
Andre Machievski (w/”Blindman” Mike Chapman) def Cara de Leon, Yuma & Roman Alexander (w/”The Perfect Manager” Toom E. Guci) with Machievski delivering a Forearm blast on Cara de Leon for the victory.
“Bad Dude” Tito Escondido def “Big Nasty” Eric Watts via a Superkick
Triple Threat Match:
“The Hardcore Kidd” Aaron Aguilara def “The Superztar” Sasha Darevko & Scorpio Sky as Aguilara delivered chokeslams to both men and pinned Darevko for the victory. Aguilara would thank the fans but would also thanked someone in the audience for being a friend and mentor….Homeless Jimmy.
AOW Tag Team Championship:
Kings of Suplexes (Blake Grayson & Anjul Stone) def Team Hi Def (“The High Flying Sensation” Steven Andrews & Ashley Grace w/Mathias Starkey) after Andrews attempted a High Crossbody on Grayson only to land on Starkey. Grace would be left alone in the ring as K.O.S would deliver a Powerbomb/Elbow Drop finisher on Grace to become the NEW AOW Tag Team Champions.
As the champions get insulted by the fans, an emotional Ashley Grace with tears in her eyes broke down in the ring. Mathias Starkey would show his displeasure of the loss as he argued with Steven Andrews about the loss as you can hear him say “He wanted to defend the titles”. Andrews would try to calm down his partner only to be on the receiving end of a sucker punch from Starkey as both Andrews & Grace looked dumbfounded as to what just happened as Starkey exited the ring. After being a successful tag team for a few years, do we see a rift in Team Hi Def??
Fatal 4 Way Match:
Damien Smith def “The Irish Juggernaut” Mikey O’Shea, “Best Around” Johnny Kai & “Miricle” Mike James as O’Shea set up James & Kai in a double move Clothesline/DDT combo, Damien would knock O’Shea out of the ring to get the pinfall victory on Johnny Kai.
AOW Heavyweight Champion Ron Kilbourn would come to the ring to issue his open challenge to anyone in the locker room but would address that his recent opponents over the last few months have been less than stellar and vows to continue to be a dominant champion no matter what gender, creed or color challenges him.
Main Event for the AOW Heavyweight Championship:
Ron Kilbourn def Ruben Igelisas
Igelsias would actually get the pinfall on Kilbourn but unbeknownst to Igelsias, Kilbourn grabbed the bottom rope and the referee would try to explain that Igelsias didn’t get the pinfall. Once Igelsias realized he didn’t get the pinfall, Kilbourn would hit his Sidewalk Slam finisher on Ruben Igelsias for the official victory and thus ending this evenings event.
Overall it was a solid show from AOW with a surprising turnout for the smaller Twenty-Nine Palms show. Usually these show would have a very small turnout but this show had more attendance today, probably not as large as the other shows running that evening like WPW, UIPW & Knokx Pro but everyone was happy for the attendance they had this evening.
Former XPW/UEW star Homeless Jimmy & Former UEW Manager Slammin Stu were in attendance for this event. Rumor is Jimmy may be debuting with AOW soon.
