The Daily News reported today that the UFC has announced Dustin Poirier (MMA Record: 19-4, UFC: 11-3) will be facing SoCal based fighter Bobby Green (MMA Record: 23-6, UFC: 4-1) at UFC 199 taking place in Inglewood, CA at The Forum on June 4.
Bobby Green is coming off a defeat via unanimous decision to Edson Barboza back in November 14th, 2014 at UFC Fight Night 57. Green was sidelined throughout 2015 with various injuries that forced him to pull out of fights against Al Iaquinta and Jorge Masvidal. Before his loss to Barboza, Green was riding an eight-fight win streak.
Dustin Poirier is currently on a three fight winning streak, having defeated Carlos Diego Ferreira, Yancy Medeiros, and most recently Joe Duffy at UFC 195 in his previous three bouts after suffering a TKO loss at the hands of Conor McGregor at UFC 176.
UFC 199 also features UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold defending his title in a rematch against former champion Chris Weidman, and Dominick Cruz defends the UFC Bantamweight Championship against Urijah Faber as they look to complete their trilogy.
UFC 199 airs live on Pay-Per-View, with prelim bouts airing on UFC Fight Pass and Fox Sports 1.
