It was a dark day for wrestling fans in SoCal when on June 26, 2015 AWS announced that all shows after September would be cancelled, and that they weren’t sure if the would be back in 2016. AWS has not returned to date.

The NFL was on strike, and NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood used the opportunity to try and get a little extra publicity by offering jobs to any out of work NFL players.

Bino Gambino was a very promising wrestler who came out of EWF, trained with Brian Danielson, teamed with Fergal Devitt (Finn Balor) and TJ Perkins in his PWG, and sadly had his career cut short due to a serious neck injury after only wrestling five years. Here is an interview he conducted with Jay Doring in June of 2006.

Fifteen years ago today, Revolution Pro held the first stage of their Spirit of the Revolution tournament. Styled after New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors, it was a weekly tournament that lead to one of the greatest moments in Revolution Pro history, when Rising Son finally defeated Super Dragon in the finals.
