BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of the AWS Promotions’ 10-Year Anniversary Show at the Frank & Sons Collectibles Show on July 7th 2012.
Relative large crowd on hand for this return show, although not many wrestling fans rolled this one w/ the opportunity to meet & greet Scott Hall.
1 – Four Corners Elimination Match between Peter Avalon, Ray Rosas, Ryan Taylor, & SoCal Crazy. Peter Avalon elim. Ryan Taylor by teaming up w/ Ray Rosas for a DDT/Gory Slam Combo, but then he & Rosas were elim. by SoCal Crazy w/ a pair of Crucifix rollups. Post-match beatdown on SoCal Crazy by PPA & Rosas followed.
* Short, impromptu match followed when some wrestler names Joe demanded a match, which was answered by none other than AWS Promoter Bart Kapitzke, who then went on to put the man in his place, finishing him off w/ a Top Rope Splash.
2 – Sindarin got the DQ win over Johnny Paradise to retain the AWS Lightweight Championship, after he ate a belt shot to the head, only to eat a Spinning Tombstone Piledriver after the bell.
3 – The L.A. F’ers (Piloto Suicida & Shamu Jr.) def. Ridiculously Bigg (El Ridiculoso & Biggie Biggz) when Piloto Suicida hit the Top Rope Splash on Ridiculoso for the pin. “Piece of cake!”
4 – Scorpio Sky p. Johnny Goodtime w/ a Superplex, followed by the Ace of Spades. One of the best matches on the card.
5 – After intermission, a one-fall triple threat match for the AWS Heavyweight Championship between Al Katrazz, Extreme Loco (w/ Diablo), & Biggie Biggz (who subbed for an injured Babi Slymm). Diablo’s distraction of Justin Borden allowed Extreme Loco to kick Al Katrazz in the nuts, after he had hit the low blow on Biggie Biggz, to pin Biggie for the title.
SM – Flashback match. B-Boy p. Cholo w/ the Shining Wizard in what was the best men’s match of the day. Even w/ the summer heat affecting their stamina, both men beat the tar out of each other.
M – Featured ladies match–a very rare treat, if you ask me. Christina Von Eerie successfully defended the AWS Women’s Championship, pinning “The Emerald Screamer” MsChif w/ a rollup from the corner. Both women showed plenty of great moves, which is most certainly a testament to just how far Von Eerie has gone since her last home title defense against Sara Del Rey 2 years ago. Great sportsmanship between two of the top women in Independent Wrestling after the bell.
