BEST OF AMERICAN SUPER JR. RETURNS TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The year marks the forth-consecutive year of the Best of American Super Jr. Tournament. The idea for a North American version was established by then New Japan Pro Wrestling Vice President, Simon Inoki and its sole purpose was to find the best talent no matter what affiliation and nation of origin. For the first two year’s the New Japan Los Angeles Dojo was the sight of the tournament and those shows helped establish talent like “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson, Rocky Romero, Puma, Chad Collyer and many more. The 2005 staging saw the event go east and was co- promoted by Ring of Honor. ROH loyalist packed The Asbury Park Convention Center on the New Jersey coast to see a new participants like Spanky, Alex Shelley, Roderick Strong and Matt Sydal battle for a spot in the Best of Super Jr. Tournament in Japan.The 2006 Best of American Super Jr. Tournament returns to Southern California in a special way. “Special” you ask, “What’s so special?” Organizer’s are please to announce that the show is Officially presented by the City of El Monte Parks and Recreation Services and will be hosted at the El Monte Community Center. Also, this is the first time that the National Wrestling Alliance® and TNA™ Wrestling will be providing talent and co-promoting.
The 2006 Best of American Super Jr. Tournament will take place on Friday May 19, 2006 at the El Monte Community Center located at 3130 N. Tyler Ave El Monte, CA 91731-3293. The Tournament line up and participants will be released at a later date. General Admission tickets are $12.00 and are on sale now at the NJPW Dojo in Santa Monica and at the El Monte Community Center on Wed. April 26, 2006.
