December 2, 2015 is a day which will be long remembered by the residents of the Inland Empire, and the entire Unites States of America. On this day, when the employees of the Department of Public Health gathered to celebrate the holiday season, tragedy struck. A couple out of Redlands, in an act of cowardice, brought the global issues of terrorism right to our frontdoor. In the months since this incident, the people of San Bernardo have bonded together to rise from this tragedy.
Since 1996 the Empire Wrestling Federation has been the premier professional wrestling organization in the Inland Empire, providing family entertainment and often sponsoring fundraisers to give back to the community. On April 15, 2016, The EWF will put on perhaps the most important fundraising event in it’s 20 year history. In cooperation with the United Way, The Empire Wrestling Federation presents “San Bernardino Strong.” The event, sponsored by Akes Family Funeral Home and Howlin’ Dawg Entertainment, will provide an evening of professional wrestling suitable for the entire family, and will donate profits from the
event to the victims of this horrible tragedy. It has been said that charity starts at home, and all of the wrestlers on the show are donating their time and skills to help our community which has been so good to us over the years.
The main event of this huge card will be a battle royal, which will feature the return of 5 time EWF Champion Ironman Mike Maze. The Ironman has been MIA from EWF since losing the championship of August 7th of last year to Gary Yap’s Man in Black. Rumor has it that when The Ironman heard about the San Bernardiono Strong benefit, he personally called Commissioner Frank Mott and demanded a spot on the card. The winner of this battle royal
will be granted the coveted #20 spot in the Great Goliath, which takes place on May 5 in Covina at the EWF 20th Anniversary Extravaganza. The Great Goliath is an annual over the top rope wrestle royal. The winner of the Goliath receives a guaranteed shot at the EWF Championship at a future event.
