SoCal News & Notes 08/24/2018

In today’s SoCal News & Notes we have updates on Bar Wrestling, Level Up, FIST Combat, Rival Pro, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Nuclear Heat, Santino Bros., and a listing of all of this weekend’s events. Click for today’s news update.

Bar Wrestling announced three matches for each for its September 12 and 13 shows.

For their September 12 event at 1720 Warehouse in Los Angeles, titled Victims… Aren’t We All, the promotion announced Viper versus Taya Valkyrie, LAX versus Jeff Cobb and Brian Cage, and Tenille Dashwood versus Solo Darling.

At It Can’t Rain All The Time on September 13 at American Legion #241 in Baldwin Park they’ve announced Viper versus Tenille Dashwood, Jeff Cobb versus MJF, and Marko Stunt versus Matt Cross. This will be the Southern California debut for Marko Stunt, who became a viral star after his performance at Joey Janela’s Lost in New York a few weeks ago. PCW Ultra announced Stunt for an upcoming PCW Ultra event as well.

Both of Bar Wrestling’s September show titles are taken from lines in the 1994 film, The Crow.

The September 12 show was originally scheduled to take place at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles but had to be moved to 1720 Warehouse due to a scheduling conflict. The promotion plans on returning to the Bootleg in October.

Level Up Pro Wrestling School, the new wrestling school in La Mesa run by B-Boy, will be holding an open house on September 1 at still to be announced time. Joey Janela will be appearing at the National City Harley Davidson Dealership on September 20 at 6:30 p.m. He will be wrestling on the FIST Combat show in La Mesa later that night against Douglas James.

Scott Hall will not be at tomorrow’s Rival Pro event in Pomona. The promotion released a statement saying it was due to an undisclosed medical issue. Willie Mack and Killer Kross were originally announced for the event as well, but both are currently out of the country. They have been replaced on the show by PJ Black and Rey Horus.

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood’s Red Carpet Rumble will be taking place this weekend on August 26. Royce Issacs will be challenging Ray Rosas for the UWN Television Title, Peter Avalon will be facing Andy Brown, Watts will be taking on Robert Baines, Suede Thompson and Chris Bey will be continuing their best of seven series, and the Red Carpet Rumble match will be taking place.

Santino Bros will be holding their first event since May on Thursday, September 20 at the Santino Bros. Dojo in Bell Gardens. The main event will be Brody King defending the Santino Brothers Heavyweight Championship against Southern California Pro-Wrestling Hall of Famer Joey “Kaos” Munoz.

Jake Atlas will be facing Fred Rosser (Darren Young in WWE) at the September 5 Nuclear Heat Wrestling event in Los Angeles. Nuclear Heat donates its profits to a different charity each show, and for September 5 they are donating to My Refuge House, an organization that helps sex trafficking victims.
