With an influx of lucha talent from Mexico, a big show for VPW, and another NWA Hollywood TV taping it looks like it is going to be yet another action packed week of wrestling. Clip of the Week is an episode of the Underground featuring some very familiar faces, Joey Ryan vs. Al Snow? Updates on my podcast, and this week’s schedule all in this week’s Jay Cal’s View.
Clip of the Week
In the past I have posted videos about The Underground. The Underground is a spin off of the much talked about Wrestling Retribution Project and exists in the same time and space. The Underground features a majority of SoCal talent wrestling under different aliases. Steve Jobs (whom I don’t recognize) teams up with Lord of War (formerly WWE’s MVP) to take on Luther (Famous B) who has Chase Walker (Joey Ryan) in his corner. Is this a gimmicky show, yes. If you haven’t followed the entire program, I’m sure it borders on the ridiculous, but the wrestling is pretty good and it showcases some of our home grown talent.
Joey Impact?
Maybe I’m in the minority, but when Joey Ryan is on TNA, I tune in. I turn the channel from the Office and I tune in. Joey Ryan broke into the business about the same time I started following indy wrestling. It seemed like every show I’d go to Joey was working. UPW, MPW, PCW, APW-LA, AWS, NWA, PWG, Joey was there. And although nothing formal has been announced just yet, many TNA faithful think that Joey will have a one-on-one Gut-Check Challenge with Al Snow at Bound For Glory or even No Surrender. So kudos to Joey, the current EWF Champion, we wish him the best.
talkNWA
With so many guests appearing on talkNWA in the past few weeks, the Free for All has kind of fallen by the wayside. But never fear, the Free For All Returns this weekend. You never really know what is going to happen on the Free For All Podcast but you can tune this Saturday. 10:30AM Pacific on Blogtalkradio.com. You can call in to listen or chat at (646) 478-3019.
NWA Championship Wrestling From Hollywood
With Adam Pearce in Canada and Kevin Douglas honoring other commitments, this will be one of the few times the the World Champions won’t be in Hollywood. But never fear, NWA Hollywood never lacks in stars. Willie Mack will be making his first televised defense as TV Champion, The Happening stake their claim on the Tribe and the Heritage Tag Titles. And Ryan Taylor taking on Shaun Ricker can bring the house down. Its the show I’m going to.
