Happy Mother’s Day out there… hope your weekend involves a bodyslam or two. This week in Jay Cal’s View; updates on the talkNWA Podcast, along with the Alliance Report, EWF’s 16th Anniversary is On Demand and more, I’m going to go back to back NWA Hollywood this weekend which shows are you going to? Vendetta Pro is bringing in a ton of former WWE stars to go with their upstanding roster… plus the rest of the shows this weekend.
Talk NWA
This weeks TalkNWA will feature “The Black Superman” Onyx from NWA Premier. Next weekend he takes on 4 Time Former Ring of Honor World Champion BJ Whitmer. Although, if you don’t really care about what’s happening in West Virginia and just want to know what’s up with the NWA in SoCal you might want to listen to the Alliance Report. There I run down what’s going on with the NWA from SoCal Pro to Pro Wrestling Revolution and all points in between. Plus exclusive audio with Mikey O’Shea, B-Boy, TMDK, SoCal Crazy, and Kevin Douglas.
16th Anniversary Extravaganza Available on Demand
On May 4th, Jesse Hernandez announced that on Tuesday, the 16th Anniversary extravaganza will be available through On Demand for only $5. More details will be coming later, TJ Perkins vs. Alex Koslov and the TLC Match between Gatson and EWF Champion Starr were said to be fantastic matches.
NWA Hollywood
This weekend will be a double shot of NWA Hollywood. Planning to make both shows and I’m looking forward to them. Saturday Night at the Epic Lounge the Main Event is Nick Madrid challenging for Scorpio Sky, but of whom I think are incredible to watch in the ring. However, the sleeper match of the night just might be Shaun Ricker vs. Ryan Taylor. I think they might have been in the ring together for EWF Heavyweight Championship Match a few months ago, but these two are very athletic and this match really could be one of those matches folks are going to sleep on.
Melee 2012
You know what got me to my first Indy show. The Hardy Boyz. Yup, I didn’t go to my first Indy show until about 2000, when the Hardy Boyz were in UPW. My memory doesn’t serve me well, but Jeff, Matt, and even Lita were there. I also believe that was the first night Rob Van Damn was in UPW, although he didn’t wrestle that show. When promoters can bring in WWE names or former WWE names, I think it pops a crowd. I believe its the best way to get new faces to the show, but obviously the regulars have got to keep them there. Vendetta Pro tomorrow night is bringing in some HUGE names. If I a lived a bit closer to Santa Maria, I’d be there. Matt Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Daivari, and Grangel are just part of the show with the likes of Famous B., Bo Cooper, Shannon Ballard, Rik Luxury, Brian Cage, SoCal Crazy, Terra Calaway, and a lot more.
