M1W: “Double Down Part 2”
Saturday April 22nd 2012 • 6:00PM
The Epic Lounge
8239 2nd St., Downey
1 – Todd Chandler p. Luis Tapia w/ what looked like a Modified Pump Handle Slam or a slam off a Chickenwing hold.
2 – Triple Threat Singles Match. Angel Lopez def. Johnny Saovi & Brian Weston when he speared Johnny Saovi for the pin.
3 – Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Anchors Away def. Fresh 2 Death & Ridiculously Bigg when Ryan Stone p. Leo Blaze w/ a Crucifix Rollup to counter a team move.
4 – Angel Santos p. Eric Cross w/ the Gutbuster, denying Eric Cross the pleasure of another nut shot.
SM – Kyle Webb p. The Chef w/ the Crucifix Destroyer in another great sem-main.
M1 – Jarek Matthews successfully defended the M1W Championship, pinning James Morgan (w/ Stu Stone) w/ the Top Rope Leg Drop. It looked like deja vu all over again, as the finish was similar to a Friday Fight Night show last August, when Jarek won the title. James Morgan tried to break Jarek Matthews’ left arm after the match, only to be run off by Andrew Hellman, who demanded his own title show immediately.
M2 – Jarek Matthews successfully defended the M1W Championship again, pinning Andrew Hellman w/ the signature Tornado Suplex. At least these two, who really haven’t seen eye-to-eye lately, save for a common foe in James Morgan, showed a sense of sportsmanship. Perhaps in the end, Jarek Matthews solidly legitimized his championship reign.
