This week in Jay Cal’s View, wrestling returns to the Galaxy Theatre and I lament on the names who’ve wrestled there in the past. Rock N Role Rebel Soul Johnny Yuma is blogging, PWG Battle Of Los Angeles announces 2 First Round Matches, and SoCal Wrestlers appear on Pay Per View. Plus up coming schedule of matches and results.
I added EWF’s Matches for this weekLooking from the outside, the Galaxy Theatre doesn’t look like a meca of professional wrestling. If you were to stroll down South Harbor Blvd., in Santa Ana you might not know that the Galaxy hosted many of young wrestlers who headline Pay Per Views today. Wrestlers like WWE’s John Cena or TNA’s Kazarian and Samoa Joe were both regulars. And although on occasion the red neon light of the Galaxy Theatre’s marquee would read Live Pro Wrestling, most people wouldn’t know that the likes of Triple H, Rob Van Dam, The Hardy Boyz and Lita, Edge and Christian, and Tommy Dreamer had once wrestled there. Or that guys who are well known on the Indy Scene made many of appearances in that venue, like Christopher Daniels, Brian Kendrick, Rocky Romero, TJ Perkins, Ricky Reyes, Paul London, and SoCal’s very own Joey Ryan. But on August 25th at 3503 S. Harbor Blvd. Santa Ana California, Joey Ryan, Rocky Romero, and TJ Perkins all return to the Galaxy Theatre as part of the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood. Tickets are $15 and Doors open at 6PM, with a bell time of 7PM. This show is being taped for KDOC Channel 56 return to pro wrestling, with the premier date of Sept. 17th on Friday Nights at 8PM with a replay on Saturday Nights at 11PM. Tickets are available at the Galaxy Box Office, on-line at Ticketmaster, or by calling (714) 957-0600. All tickets are General Admission, but if you want to seat make sure you make dinner reservations, which require $10 worth of food purchases.
Speaking of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, 1/2 of the NWA Heritage Tag Team Champions, Johnny Yuma has started a blog. You can follow his blog at Less Rock More Talk

The second installment of Viva La Lucha Pay Per View, Extreme Rebellion airs starting next week, August 27th. Some might familiar faces will be featured in the Pay Per View.
