Jay Cal’s View #8

With the temperatures in the triple digits through out Southern California, it seems like the weather isn’t the only thing heating up. This weekend will see the start of yet another National Lucha Libre touring group with FMLL presenting Luchamania USA 2010. Also this week was the big announcement from NWA Pro Wrestling announcing its partnership with KDOC-TV and the new Championship Wrestling From Hollywood program. This week also starts the Scott Lost Farewell Tour starting at SoCal Pro Wrestling’s Collision Course 4. I’ll also give you this weeks upcoming events and the prior’s week results.Recently via Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Seven press release it was announced that Scott Lost’s career would be concluding at PWG’s next show Seven. Known as the Professional, Scott Lost has held multiple championships from across the area. Lost was also known as a tag team specialist teaming throughout his career with Ryan Ruffio (as the Lost Boys), Joey Ryan and Tommy Williams (as X-Foundation), with Chris Bosh (as Arrogance), and was also a part of the Dynasty. In regards to the Wrestler of the Decade Post, respected former SoCal Referee extraordinaire Adam Marantz said “[Scott Lost] is psychologically brilliant in the ring and is a bumping machine! I don’t think anyone has taken more bumps in SoCal over the past decade than Scott. He might lose to guys like Super Dragon and Frankie Kazarian and HKK, but I think Scott carries those matches and he’s the reason those matches in the middle of the card are so good.” Prior to the Pro Wrestling Guerrila event on July 30th, Scott Lost will make one final appearance for SoCal Pro Wrestling. Fans in Oceanside and surrounding areas will have an opportunity to say good bye to Lost as he teams with “Pretty” Peter Avalon against SoCal Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions (Johnny Yuma and Johnny Goodtime). I would like to echo what Adair said to sum up the ending of Lost’s career, “… there’s nothing sad about an incredibly decent guy who gets to walk away on his own terms.”

It was announced July 12th that NWA Pro Wrestling and KDOC-TV reached a partnership in producing producing National Wrestling Alliance® branded television programming on the station beginning September 2010. NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood will premiere on channel 56 on September 11th at 11:00 PM. The NWA Showcase Tour that kicked off with Mach-1 Wrestling on May 22nd from Orange High School, was the first step in preparing for the new show. The Tour concluded at the end of June from SoCal Pro Wrestling in Oceanside’s Boys and Girls Club, the Desert Sun Stadium in Yuma, AZ, and the Stardust Skating Center in San Bernardino. The Galaxy Theatre will host the taping, which is scheduled to take place on August 25th at 7:30PM and all tickets are $15. Tickets are available at (714)957-0600 or online at www.galaxytheatre.com. If you purchase at the box office, you can save on the convenience fees.

In speaking to SoCal Pro Wrestling brass, the SCP Action Figures will be available soon. There was an issue with the packaging but they should be available within the next week. There was speculation the toys will be available at Mach-1 Wrestling’s Centre City Slam. You can also pre-order them at
wrestlewarehouse.com All five for $40 or $10 Each.
