Back on July 22nd the returning HPW fans were treated to a great afternoon of pro wrestling which was highlighted by our Heavyweight Championship match, an NWA World Tag Team Title Match and an impromptu falls count anywhere match. So where does this leave HPW for the next event No Turning Back on August 19th at the Downey Elks Lodge? For that answer we must take a look at the aftermath of HPW’s Resurrection.Main Event for HPW Heavyweight Title
“Mr. Instant Replay” Matt Jackson © vs. Ronin
After Matt Jackson successfully retained his title against the “Professional” Scott Lost Ronin rushed out of the locker room to assault our current champion. The sore loser Scott Lost and Ronin put the beat down on Matt until his brother “Slick” Nick Jackson came to save our heavyweight champion from a further beating. As a result HPW has signed Matt Jackson to face Ronin for the HPW Heavyweight Title. Ronin just gave a small sample of the punishment he plans to bestow to Matt in his efforts to capture the Heavyweight Title. But Matt Jackson will definitely bring his A game as he does for everyone of his matches.
Semi Main Event
“the Rock Superstar” Kaos vs. “the Professional” Scott Lost
Back at Resurrection both these men were involved in great title matches but failed in their missions to capture the gold. Kaos almost became one half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions when he pinned Karl Anderson with a running liger bomb out of the corner, but Joey Ryan pulled the referee out of the ring to prevent the three count. Afterwards Joey nailed Kaos with one of the title belts to knock him out for the victory. Scott Lost suffered defeat at the hands of our Heavyweight Champion Matt Jackson in his attempt to become the HPW Heavyweight Champion. Both Kaos and Lost want to redeem themselves as singles wrestlers and want a chance to become Heavyweight Champion in HPW. A win in this match up could very well decide a new number one contender for the heavyweight championship.
“the Hardcore Homo” Angel vs. Karl “The Machine Gun” Anderson
Both of these men took part in one of the most historic matches in HPW history. Their previous encounter became one of the most talked about matches HPW has ever hosted. The antics of Angel almost gave his team the edge they needed in facing the NWA World Tag Team Champions. His “style” of wrestling confused, upset, and threw off the pace for Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson, but it was not enough to walk away with the NWA World Titles. However Angel has the chance to walk away the Downey Elks Lodge with a win over Karl Anderson at HPW’s No Turning Back. Thus far in singles action Angel is undefeated in HPW suffering his only lost back at resurrection. On the other hand Karl Anderson wants to walk away undefeated in HPW as well. One thing is certain, at HPW’s No Turning Back this match will be one of if not thee most talked about matches in HPW to date.
Lil Cholo vs. Guerrero De Sangre
Both of these combatants want to continue their win streak to climb the ladder of success in HPW. Cholo has gained many big victories in HPW, most recently defeating “Slick” Nick Jackson back at Resurrection. Guerrero De Sangre has also seen much success in HPW mostly in tag team matches, but now he wants to gain some singles victories to show the wrestling world he can hold his own in a match.
Blazing Riot vs. TJ Perkins & Bino Gambino
Blazing Riot wants to erase the memory of their loss to Ronin and Guerrero De Sangre by beating the new team of TJ Perkins and Bino Gambino. The last time Bino Gambino was in a HPW ring he beat Diablo with his binomite finisher at Battle by the Bay in Culver City. Since then Bino has made a name for himself by becoming a former 2 time EWF Heavyweight Champion and wrestled in main high profile matches in PWG and other promotions. TJ Perkins has made a name for himself wrestling from coast to coast and several countries including Mexico, Japan, and Europe. Pound for pound TJ Perkins is one of the best wrestlers in the world and HPW can’t wait to see the impact he will leave at the Downey Elks Lodge on August 19th.
Dynamite Fury vs. Steve Pain & Colossal Chris
Fabien Fury gained one of the biggest victories in his life by pinning Ray “Biggie Biggz” Murillo in the middle of the ring back at Resurrection. Many predicted a victory for the more experienced duo of Murillo and Charles Mercury, however those same critics believe Fabien Fury and Joey Dynamite scored an upset and can’t do that again. A rematch might be in the foreseen future to settle the score, but for now Dynamite Fury face their next challenge at No Turning Back. Steve Pain has not seen action in HPW for over a year now and Colossal Chris making his HPW debut in this match. This year Steve Pain has teamed up with many tag team partners in various So Cal promotions, but the common factor in each match is his ability to adapt to his partner in order to achieve success. This ability is going to be tested when he teams with Colossal Chris to calm down the fury of Dynamite Fury.
“Slick” Nick Jackson vs. Charles Mercury
Even though Nick was able to help defend his brother at the end of Resurrection, he was not able to walk away from the Elks Lodge with a success. His lost to Lil Cholo will forever be in his memory until he gains some much needed wins. Charles Mercury is also looking for success especially after his unpleasant incident with Dynamite Fury. A win for either competitor could provide the momentum they need to succeed in HPW.
