NWA Pro Report for 5/3/07
Thank you Texas! It wouldn’t be fair if this report started off with any three other words. The response we received from the fans throughout the Lone Star State. Events in Hidalgo, El Paso, Houston and Laredo saw packed arenas entertained by the finest wrestling action. Full results can be found on our MySpace page at myspace.com/nwapro. A return to Texas will begin on June 15th in Texas with more dates to be announced shortly!
The NWA Heritage Title saw it’s first ever new Champion as Sean “Syxx-Pac” Waltman defeated the inaugural champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce in El Paso. After a successful defense against the ever-tough Sicodelico Jr. in Houston, Waltman then faced Pearce in a re-match in Laredo. Pearce and his manager C. Edward Vander Pyle used very questionable means to regain the title that night. Despite the shortness of his reign, Waltman proved to fans both in Texas and worldwide that he is once again at the top of his game. It is safe to say that we have not heard the last of this feud!
Many of you may have heard of the incident that took place before the scheduled semi-main event at the Houston stop of the tour. Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson & Joey Ryan, along with Vander Pyle, came to the ring to face their opponents Ultimo Dragon & TJ Perkins. Fans reacted strongly to the controversial nature of the trio’s pre-match speech and began to pelt them with rocks from the rodeo arena floor. With no guardrails and limited security the situation quickly got out of hand. Luckily, no one was seriously injured in the onslaught of rocks and dirt that prevented the match from taking place. Building officials have assured us that a far greater security plan is scheduled for the June 15th return.
