As first reported at the NWA Pro Wrestling Summit this past Friday in Las Vegas, NV an agreement has been reached to begin the production and playback of a new weekly wrestling television show. NWA Pro Wrestling Showcase will be a refreshing change to recent televised professional wrestling programming. The weekly hour long program will feature the finest in wrestling action from throughout the world with an emphasis on energetic, fast-paced action while maintaining the National Wrestling Alliance’s high standard of athleticism and competition.NWA Pro Wrestling Showcase will run on a rapidly expanding cable channel called MAV-TV. MAV-TV is currently available in a select number of markets in the U.S. and Europe. Additionally, work is in progress to make these shows available via the Internet for those in currently uncovered markets. Much more information on this will be made available shortly, including times and locations for TV Tapings as well as airings of the program! NWA Pro Wins Big In Vegas With The Wrestling Summit
History was made on Friday September 22, 2006 as the National Wrestling Alliance presented the Wrestling Summit featuring La Copa de Lucha in front of over 3,000 crazed fans at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Congratulations to the Mexican representative in the Copa de Lucha tournament, Los Luchas – Phoenix Star & Zokre, who defeated both the Japanese team of Black Tiger and Puma and the American team of Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson & Joey Ryan to become the first ever Copa de Lucha Champions!
Other great action on the night saw:
– “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce defeat Frankie Kazarian
– Babi Slymm & Kafu won against “Classic” Colt Cabana & Plague
– Konnan & Human Tornado defeated Aaron Aguilera & Al Katrazz
– Derek Sanders & Durango Kid beat the team of NWA British Commonwealth Champion Paul Tracy & Zarco
– And Sean “Syxx-Pac” Waltman defeated CMLL Super Ligero Champion Rocky Romero in a non-title bout.
Finally, the main even that sent the fans into an absolute frenzy saw Lucha legends El Hijo de Santo & Rey Misterio Sr. defeat the team of L.A. Park and Fobia in an incredible 2 out of 3 falls match-up!
