Lucha VaVoom “Lucha VaVOOM – Flyin’ at the Mayan” June 20th-22nd

This June sees the release of the Jack Black film, NACHO LIBRE, which tapped Lucha VaVOOMs considerable resources for the Mexican Wrestling scenes.  Jack Black himself attended Lucha VaVOOM, and had this to say “This is f*cking COOL … This is the sh*t!”

But even more exciting than that, prepare yourself for Lucha VaVOOMs “Flyin’ at the Mayan.”  Don King himself could not pull off an event like this:  Four high-flying Lucha Libre bouts, strip-trapease acts, and of course new and returning alternative comedy superstars!  Here’s how it breaks down: MEXICAN WRESTLING :  We’ve taken great pains to fly in Mexico’s biggest star & highest flyer: Mistico!  He and Cassandro (a deadly combination of Frost n’ Tip and prison tattoos) will face  CMLL superstars, Averno and Mephisto (making their U.S. debut!) This promises to be the most exciting Lucha Estrella Los Angeles has ever seen.
What about the minis? Of course there will be minis.  Top tiny tussler Tsuki teams up with everyone’s other favorite, Mascarita Sagrada to face two of the highest flyin’ minis we could find – do not miss their debut.
Farmers and perverts will tell you that chickens don’t fly – but ours do!  We keep trying to let them rest but the crowd won’t let us. Also featuring Human Tornado (fresh from his appearance in Nacho Libre) and the triumphant return of Chilango.

Strip & Strip-trapease :  The Wau Wau Sisters & Karis will appear on trapeze, risking life and limb WITHOUT A NET to disrobe for your viewing pleasure.  But it doesn’t stop there.  Earth-bound blast off burlesquers include: Lola La Cereza, Rocket Sapphire, Ursulina & of course pogo stick sensation Roky Roulette.

Comedians :  Beloved Blaine Capatch MC’s with help from Tom Kenny, Dana Gould & Patton Oswalt.  Special guest commentator: Margaret Cho!

For those not yet familiar with Lucha VaVOOM, we don’t know what to tell you anymore.  Maybe you don’t want to see the most exciting, visually stunning show to ever grace Los Angeles with its presence.  If you haven’t been tempted by raves from VANITY FAIR, ROLLING STONE, TIME MAGAZINE, THE FACE, L.A. WEEKLY, L.A. TIMES and most importantly, the fans that fill the Mayan, then all we can say is, don’t believe the hype – come see it for yourself!
