The Human Tornado retained the AWS Heavyweight title by defeating Adam Pearce in a steel cage match in the main event of the October 22nd AWS show. Also on the show Lil’ Nate defeated Quicksilver in a street fight to capture the AWS L.A. Lightweight Title. For complete results click below.Lil’ Nate opened the show with an interview. He started off by thanking the
fans for their reaction to him when he first debuted in AWS, but slowly started
to become more and more upset for the fans cheering Quicksilver more, even though
he’d cheated to get the L.A. Lightweight belt last month. The crowd turned
solidly against Nate and prompted him to leave in a huff. On to the results:
1. R2K and Junior upset Los Chivos and Arrogance (Scott Lost and Joey Ryan)
to capture the AWS Tag Team Titles when Juinor shot a Rolling Cradle on Enigma
de Oro. Arrogance and Los Chivos began fighting each other allowing the upset.
Los Chivos demanded a rematch next month.
2. Alex Koslov pinned Ronin with a top rope elbowdrop.
3. Hardkore Inc defeated Davey Richards and Tony Kozina. Richards seemingly
had Katrazz pinned with a handful of tights only to see Aaron Aguilera nailed
Davey with a boot allowing Katrazz to roll through and secure the pin.
4. Antonio Mestre beat Scorpio Sky by Disqualification when Sky nailed Mestre
with a crutch that was brought to the ring by Mestre’s second, Pete Goodman.
Goodman was using the crutch on Sky behind the referee’s back, only to
see it backfire. When Sky used it on Mestre, the referee had no choice but to
call for the bell.
5. Hook Bomberry and Lionheart beat The Forgotten (Johnny Paradise and Charles
Mercury). Dino Winwood was ejected from ringside for trying to hold the feet
of Lionheart down on a suplex attempt. Last month, The Forgotten got the win
in this way, but not so yesterday. Post match, Dino came back to the ring and
tossed in brass knucks, which were used to pummel Hook and Lionheart until refs
were able to clear the ring.
6. Lil’ Nate defeated Quicksilver in a street fight to capture the AWS
L.A. Lightweight Title for the 2nd time. Antonio Mestre and Scorpio Sky interfered
in the match allowing Nate to pull and use a concealed chain to fall Quicksilver.
Sky issued the challenge to Nate and Mestre for next month to face the reunited
Aerial Express.
7. The Plague and Slymm went to a double count-out. The battle of the big men
was surreal at times, seeing the massive Plague military press the 300-pound
Babi Slymm. C. Edward Vander Pyle came out and announced that he’d signed
The Plague as the newest member of his Family. These monsters went toe-to-toe
and threw bombs all over the place, all over the FnS arena. Referee Goggles
Montebello was forced to make the 10-count while Slymm and the Plague were in
the midst of a very intense brawl ringside. I’m sure we haven’t seen
the last of this.
8. The Human Tornado defeated “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce in a bloody
steel cage main event. Tornado controlled the pace early with arm drags and
a dropkick. Pearce tried to counter with the same but Tornado waved off the
drop kick and shook his finger at Pearce. Then the larger Pearce took over and
dominated Tornado for the majority of the match with brutal punches and chops.
Tornado came back with a leg lariat and drove Pearce into the mat headfirst
on a Frankensteiner out of nowhere and crawled toward the exit door. As he was
making his way through, Mr. Vander Pyle slammed the door on Tornado’s head.
Pearce then opened and slammed it again on Tornado, splitting him open. Pearce
then opened up on Tornado, clawing at his bloody head and stinging him with
jabs and elbows. Referee Rick Knox stepped in too close and got run over by
Pearce as Tornado dropped down, sending Knox into the side of the cage. Pearce,
sensing an opportunity called for a chair, which was thrown in by Vander Pyle.
Pearce set the chair in between the top and middle rope in the corner. As Pearce
tried to Irish Whip Tornado into the chair, Tornado reversed. Pearce countered
and stopped the momentum with a straight right hand to Tornado’s bloody
head. Pearce charged at Tornado, who leap frogged, and Pearce went head first
into the chair. Almost instantly, Pearce was a bloody mess. Pearce bled all
over the ring as Tornado staggered toward a corner post, hoping to climb out.
Pearce followed and met Tornado on the top rope in the corner as both men dripped
blood. Pearce hammered on Tornado’s back as he attempted to climb over
the cage and brought him back in. Pearce stunned the crowd by delivering a top-rope
Pedigree to Tornado. Both men were laid out at this point, with Pearce motioned
to Vander Pyle to open the cage door. Pearce crawled toward the cage door as
Vander Pyle screamed encouragement. Tornado could barely raise himself off the
canvas as Pearce reached for the outstretched hands of Vander Pyle. Tornado
managed to get to his feet and Pearce was a bloody mess and laid over the bottom
rope with Vander Pyle pulling him toward the floor with all his might. Tornado
turned and saw Pearce 3/4ths of the way out of the cage, looked to the top and
realized he couldn’t climb over in time, and in one burst, ran and vaulted
himself over the top rope, through the cage door, and onto Referee Marty Rubalcaba
on the arena floor as a shocked Pearce looked on in utter amazement. Referee
Rick Knox called for the bell as the entire crowd on hand at the FnS arena exploded
and rose to their feet.
Pearce took the belt from Knox and rolled back in the ring with a microphone.
The visuals were frightening as Pearce dripped blood on the microphone as he
started to speak. He called Tornado back into the ring, calling him by his real
name. Pearce began to talk about Tornado, and how he’d earned his respect,
and how Tornado was a superstar in his eyes. He asked that he be allowed to
be the first to give Tornado a standing ovation, which the crowd followed. Pearce
said he was never more proud to shed blood nor shake hands with a better man.
Pearce intro’d Tornado as the “rightful AWS champion” and strapped
the belt around Tornado’s waist. As Tornado’s music hit, Pearce began
a second ovation, and Tornado turned to the crowd to give thanks. Just then,
Pearce blindsided him with a brutal forarm to the back on the head and began
to lay boots to him. The Plague ran in and the beatdown was on. Pearce hit TWO
jumping piledrivers and Tornado was out. Hook Bomberry and Lionheart tried to
get into the cage, but the Plague held the door shut as Pearce locked in his
Wahine Clutch Sleephold. Just then, Sexy Chino’s music hit and Chino sprinted
around the ring ala the Ultimate Warrior to a huge ovation. Chino scaled the
cage and jumped on Pearce’s back. Pearce snapmared Chino off and drilled
him with a Piledriver, leaving him laying. Slymm’s music hit and Babi Slymm
and Al Katrazz hit the ring to another huge ovation. Slymm forced the cage door
open and pulled Plague out by his head as Katrazz climbed in and stopped Pearce
with a series of punches. Katrazz hit Pearce with the Lockdown and Tornado followed
with a superkick to the face of Pearce. Katrazz motioned for Tornado to go to
the top of the cage, much to the delight of the crowd. As Katrazz held Pearce,
Tornado came off the top of the cage with a corkscrew moonsault. Pearce somehow
managed to move and Tornado nailed Katrazz! Pearce crawled out and to the back
leaving a trail of blood. The crowd was stunned again as Tornado helped Katrazz
up only to be greeted with a thunderous right hand. Referees, wrestlers, and
even Bart pulled the two apart, and the show ended.
The next show was announced for November 26 at the FnS Arena.
Notes: Both Tornado and Pearce had numerous lacerations from the match. Pearce
also suffered a broken right hand, presumably from the brutal punches thrown
in the match. Both men were at home doing fine as this was written.
