WITNESS THE CHANGE:
THE SECOND HALF OF 2003 BELONGS TO PCW
By Kristy Vandal, PCW Public Relations
PASADENA, CA (by way of Proctor Palace, Philadelphia, PA) – With a new name, a new home, a new vision, and a new owner, “Proctor” (AKA Pacific) Championship Wrestling continues Aaron Proctor’s proposed “takeover of the wrestling world” has made Southern California’s indy wrestling scene the ultimate shake-up. At PCW “One Year Later”, the eyeliner-wearing, profanity-spouting, crowd-insulting Philadelphia Connection spokesperson Aaron Proctor defeated former the Pacific “Coast” Wrestling owner to become the sole owner and controller of PCW. With the onslaught of The Philadelphia Connection met by SoCal’s best, this series of brawn and wits as at, for certain, a stalemate.PCW moves to The Eagles Hall at 455 E. Woodbury Road in Altadena, CA. It is a virtually unknown venue to the wrestling world with a seating capacity comparable to other favorite venues of die-hard Southern California fans such as The Frank & Son Collectibles Show in the City Of Industry and larger than the American Legion Post in Newhall, CA. PCW’s “Reinvention” will become a night where tempers are tried, battles are fought, and emotions run desperately wild. Join PCW for its “Reinvention” on Saturday, July 19th, 2003, at 8pm. Tickets are the same great price of $15, $10 for kids under 12.
CZW World Heavyweight Champion, The Messiah remains the sole Philadelphia Connection alumnus left with PCW gold. He’ll defend the Championship against Brawlin’ Bo Cooper. Brawlin’ Bo is coming off of an important and bloody win over “friendly” (if there ever was a term in wrestling) foe, Foob Dogg. What led Proctor to sign this match right away has stunned and shocked wrestling fans. Make no mistake, The Messiah and Brawlin’ Bo Cooper will tear down the Eagles Hall (and each other) on July 19th, 2003.
Whomever comes away with the PCW Championship, be it The Messiah in a celebratory retention – or Brawlin’ Bo Cooper in newly found glory, will face the winner of the #1 Contender’s match. World-class, well-known, and pure talent “Tornado” Tony Kozina will be up against “The King Of Hip”, “The Coolest Person In The World”, Frankie “The Future” Kazarian. These are two amazing, gifted, and talented wrestlers who no matter how villainous or valiant take it past the limit to get to the victory.
David Letterman. Jay Leno. Craig Kilborn. Jason Bennett?! Surely, you’ve not misread this press junket!
Jason Bennett, star manager of Preston Scott & The Matrix (Damage Inc.), is coming off the biggest success of his managerial career. Jason led Damage Inc. to victory over CZW World Tag Team Champions The Backseat Boyz, Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere, to gain the PCW Tag Team Championship at PCW’s “One Year Later”. On July 19th, Jason Bennett will debut “The Hollywood Damage Report” and he’s not letting us know who his first guest is! Also – Damage Inc. make their first Tag Team Championship defense against #1 contenders The Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky). Expect a five star match from these two well-oiled machines and put together teams.
Invasions in PCW just don’t come from Philly. Luckily, this one isn’t out to takeover the wrestling world as Northern California’s own Dante (SPW, NAW) takes on Lil Cholo of The Philadelphia Connection. Dante is becoming more and more popular on this half of California and wants to prove to the onlookers that he is one of the best wrestlers in the entire country. Dante made his PCW debut during the Maximum Title tournament at PCW’s “Maximum Risk” in April. Lil Cholo is coming off a great win against the UK Kid in a 2/3 falls lucha libre rules match from “One Year Later”. Expect more death-defying, high-flying, suicidal moves from these cruiserweight athletes. Dante’s background in the martial arts and Lil Cholo’s well-documented lucha libre influences make it a win-win situation – for the fans! Matches like these are becoming a staple in PCW’s “Reinvention”.
UNBELIEVEABLE! That’s how “The Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan’s theme goes. It’s not so unbelievable, however, that he defeated B-Boy in the finals of the Maximum Title tournament! Joey Ryan’s win was the catalyst and the turning point in Southern California’s continued fight against The Philadelphia Connection. This win made the Southern California wrestling fans (especially one very vocal one) rejoice but made Aaron Proctor almost have a heart attack. Proctor immediately has ordered Joey Ryan to defend the Maximum Title against two mystery opponents – two mystery opponents to be named at the show!
There are a whole lot more matches involved in PCW’s “Reinvention” on July 19th. “`Tweener” and proud Canadian “North Star” Mike Vega is not looking for a peace treaty when he goes up against fan favorite, Foob Dogg. “American Zero” Steve Sanchez, for some reason, attacked Mike Vega after his win over The Philadelphia Connection’s Mace and these two will definitely push the envelope as their hatred for each other ensues. Zero says it’s because “Vega is bringing something terrible to PCW!”. However, Zero must worry about his match against the ever-popular Disco Machine! You’ll also see The Stepfather and The Red Headed Step Child – collectively, The Stepfamily – take on Hardkore Inc: Hardkore Kidd and his pal Al Katrazz! Also: R2K, Infernal, Silver Tyger, and many, many more in action at “Reinvention”.
What does Aaron Proctor have in store for the wrestling world with Proctor Championship Wrestling? Will Brawlin’ Bo Cooper and The Messiah beat each other to a bloody pulp? Who will be Jason Bennett’s first guest on The Hollywood Damage Report? Who will call themselves the undisputed #1 contender for the PCW Championship? Who will Joey Ryan’s mystery opponents be? What does American Zero know about Mike Vega that we don’t? What does the new PCW have in store for the fans of Southern California and the rest of the wrestling world? Obviously, surprises. Surprises, great wrestling action, and superior entertainment are what the new PCW is all about.
