SoCal News & Notes 03/15/2017

In today’s big update we have news from all over the Southern California wrestling world, including updates on SoCal Pro, FCW, DPW, VWE, EWF, Lucha Underground, BRAVE, PCW, AWS, CWFH, and much more. Click for today’s updates.

Adrian Quest, Eli Everfly, and Dicky Maier will be facing Fidel Bravo, Labertino, and Blood Eagle at Toryumon Mexico’s annual Dragonmania show at Arena Mexico in Mexico City on May 27th. Dragonmania is the promotion’s biggest show of the year, normally drawing over 10,000, and airs on Samurai TV in Japan a few weeks later.

SoCal Pro has made several announcements for their big 10th anniversary show on April 15th. Rocky Romero, Paul London, Lil’ Cholo, SoCal Crazy, and The Ballard Brothers have all been announced. Both SoCal Crazy and The Ballard Brothers actually wrestled on SoCal Pro’s debut show on April 14, 2007. Rey Mysterio Jr. had previously been announced for the show. Tickets are on sale now.

SoCal Pro will also be holding a seminar with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat at their school on April 28th. E-mail socalprowrestling@hotmail.com for more info.

Finest City Wrestling has also announced Rey Mysterio Jr. will be wrestling on their June 3rd show.

Desert Wrestling Entertainment has changed their name to Desert Pro Wrestling. Their next show is on April 8th in El Centro.

Venue Wrestling Entertainment has announced Extreme Tiger for their April 22nd show in Imperial.

Amazing Kong has been announced as the third inductee for 2017 into the Empire Wrestling Federation hall of fame. She will be joining Vizzion and Jeff Walton in this year’s class. Last year Melina Perez, Frankie Kazarian, and Bobby Bradley were inducted in the inaugural class.

Vampiro was named an executive with Lucha Libre FMV, the parent company of Lucha Underground, on Monday. He will head up talent relations for Lucha Libre FMV, overseeing talent scouting and development as well as coordinating live events for the Lucha Underground, Lucha Underground talent schedules, travel, and negotiation with 3rd party promoters. He will remain in his role as commentator for Lucha Underground as well.

Lucha Underground season’s one and two debut on Netflix today.

Michael Tarver versus Jesus Bryce has been added to BRAVE Immortal Combat’s debut show in San Diego on June 4th. Michael Tarver is best known as being part of the Nexus in WWE. Jesus Bryce is a veteran wrestler out of the Chicago area.

Pacific Coast Wrestling has announced their shows are now available as part of the Highspots Wrestling Network.

Samara has been added to the May 27th AWS women’s tournament #5 in a non-tournament match. She will be facing Sage Sin and Buggy Nova with an as of yet unannounced partner.

Shotzi Blackheart defeated Angel Dust to win the Phoenix of RISE championship on March 11th in Cleveland, OH.

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood will begin airing in Detroit and Denver on Saturdays at 4:00 pm beginning April 1st. The show will be on KCDO in Denver and WADL in Detroit. The new markets join KDOC in Los Angeles, CW6 in San Diego, Spectrum Sports Channel in Kansas City, KWWL in Waterloo, Youtoo America, TuffTV in airing the program. The show is also available on the Fite TV app.
