A Recap of EWF October 4th

Shot Of The Night - EWF -10-04-13

This CHAOS COLUMN is a recap of Empire Wrestling Federation’s show October 4th 2013 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Covina. A large crowd was on hand for this 8-match card.

1 – Eli Everfly p. Hoss Hogg (CWFH’s Hoss Sutton) with a Victory Roll. En route to the win, Eli showed some nice lucha moves, including a good Triangle Submission hold.

2 – Patient Zero p. Brute Baretto (w/ Marty Elias) with a DDT, despite getting his left shoulder picked apart.

3 – Intergender Lumberjack Match. Jacob Tarasso made Hudson Envy tapout to a Scorpion Deathlock or Texas Cloverleaf Submission in what was essentially a clean match.

4 – EWF American Champion Raccid Najjar (w/ Uday Ukleja) p. The Viking Warrior w/ his version of the Pedigree. Raccid & Uptown Andy Brown, who was doing commentary with Wade Needham & Matt Sinister during the match, had a stare-down after the bell.

5 – Rico Dynamite & Tommy Wilson (w/ Marty Elias) def. EWF Heavyweight Champion Ironman Mike Maze & RJ Ruiz. With Tommy Wilson scoring the pin on Mike Maze with the MegaKick, Tommy earned his title shot on the 11/1 Covina show, although Marty insisted that they do it now. Instead, Mike brought out the other faces from the back to run “Team Marty” out, bringing in intermission.

6 – Richie Slade p. Danny Ghost with what looked like a Modified Canadian Destroyer in a good match that saw good sportsmanship between the two.

SM – Killa Gorilla p. Tyshaun Prince with a One-Legged Dropkick into a Corner Springboard Splash. Best part was, the ring held up against almost 800 lbs of big men.

M – Ladder Match for the EWF Tag Team Championship between The Fallen Empire (Ryan Taylor & Mondo Vega) and The Von Dooms (Vintage Dragon & Cyanide, w/ Terra Calaway). Neither team let up an inch as they used the two available ladders, and a couple of chairs. Vintage Dragon tried to use the big body of Cyanide for support, but was thwarted in three attempts. Even Terra got involved, low-blowing Mondo, who was on a ladder, and took a chair shot to the back. In the end, VD & Cyanide got the last moves, with VD climbing the ladder to grab the title to close out the obvious match of the night.
