Whether you knew him as “The Eternal Optimist”, “The Straight-Edge Suplex Machine”, “Mr. Resilient”, or simply “Jarek Matthews”, he never failed to make an impression. The word quit was just not a word in his vocabulary; just as, to him, every day is definitely the BEST DAY EVER!
It has been recently confirmed that Jarek Matthews is officially throwing in towel (for the time being) and stepping away from the wrestling world. He recently issued a confirmation on his Face book page stating that tonight was indeed his last match for the forseeable future.
Matthews has come a long way in his career as a professional wrestler… From being a boy training to perform in the sport he loves, to being an unknown guy getting his first win at a free wrestling show in San Bernadino, to winning to his first major title win at Mach 1 wrestling, to becoming first ever tag team champion at LuchaPro, a few more title wins at various promotions, to Apex pro tag team champion to becoming one of the most popular guys on the roster at many promotions. He worked hard and really made a name for himself throughout his career as well as kept the crowd in high spirits by his never ending optimism; he was always willing to share the abundance of energy he always brought with him to shows.
