WRESTLING CARES Announces The Race For The Ring Tournament

Wrestling CaresLos Angeles, CA – Saturday, April 27, 2013. Live from the historic Alexandria Ballrooms on 501 South Spring Street in Downtown L.A. Wrestling Cares Association (WCA) presents the first-ever year-long professional wrestling tournament featuring a gathering of the brightest stars in wrestling today. WCA will introduce unique matches that put the emphasis on sports over entertainment and help benefit a great charity.

WCA brings a new element to pro wrestling by implementing a scoring system based on a ten (10) minute time limit per match. Every fall scored via pinfall, submission or countout is worth 1 point. If the score is tied after the initial 10 minutes expire there will be a three (3) minute sudden death overtime period where the next fall wins. If there is no winner at the end of sudden death overtime, both competitors are eliminated.

WCA celebrates the legacy of the world’s best independent wrestling, bringing together talent from ROH, DGUSA, PWG, CWFH, TCW, EWF, CZW, FWE, RPW, CNWA and many more.

Talent scheduled to appear on April 27th includes:

Colt Cabana, Davey Richards, Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole, Sami Callihan, Kyle Matthews,

Tony Nese, Jamin Olivencia, Steve Anthony, Caprice Coleman, Pepper Parks, Vordell Walker, Drew Gulak, Canadian National Champion Bobby Sharp, “The Sarge” Jeff McAllister, and it’s all hosted by former WWE Diva, Playboy cover model, and current RoH star Maria Kanellis.

This revolutionary pro wrestling event serves a good cause as 25% of all tickets sales will be donated to the Scott L. Schwartz Children’s Foundation. The Foundation has brought hope and inspiration to many hospitalized children battling cancer through the tireless efforts and caring spirit of actor, director, filmmaker, and former wrestler Scott Schwartz.
