Jay Cal’s View #90

Looks like this weekend belongs to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.  The Battle Of Los Angeles is always one of the best shows and I’m rooting for the Mack Attack.  The Clip of the Week this week features the WWE’s Anger Management.  Can  you identify all three wrestlers who’ve competed for NWA Hollywood?  NWA Tennessee Heavyweight Champion will be on talkNWA.  Tommy Wilson gets to showcase against the Masterpiece and the rest of this week’s action.

Clip of the Week
Anger Management:  It isn’t just for Charlie Sheen anymore.  Stylez Monroe aka Smiley aka GQ Money along with Howard aka TNA’s Mason Andrews aka Scorpio Sky joined Kane, Daniel Bryan, and a few others in Anger Management.  GQ Money has been incognito in SoCal Wrestling for a while, but has been making the rounds as a magazine cover model.  What is really remarkable is that tweeter , pointed out, “Scorpio Sky can say something nobody else can. He was on Raw Live & Impact Live in 2012. Even better. They were within 50 days of each other.”  Many sources indicated that Sky was bound for TNA and maybe he still is, I really don’t know for sure.  But I do know this… I don’t always watch RAW, but when I do it’s because Scorpio Sky is on it.  Scorpio Sky was recently ranked #410 on the PWI 500, and he defeated Paul London at the most recent AWS Show.

Willie Mack BOLA 12 Winner?
It was would have to be described as a banner year for the newly crowned NWA Hollywood Television Champion, Willie Mack sets his sights on the Battle of Los Angeles this weekend. Quite honestly, the Battle of Los Angeles has always been one of my favorite shows of the year (although I haven’t been to one in years). It is always a terrific blend of more known nationally talent and guys from our own back yard in SoCal. A recent facebook poll showed the fans support of the man known as Chocolate-Caliente. Willie Mack does face some stiff competition in Sami Callihan, who makes his first BOLA appearance. In fact there are six wrestlers who will make their first debuts in the BOLA Tournament. Last Years winner was non other than El Generico. One thing is for sure, those in attendance will see some high profile matches.  Later this month Willie Mack along with Adam Cole and Ricochet from PWG, NWA Hollywood’s Hawaiian Lion, and WPW Genio go to Columbia to compete for Latin America Wrestling.  Also joining them are former WWE Superstars Chris Masters and Carlitos.

Mega King vs The Masterpiece
Speaking of Chris Masters, it was just a few years ago that Chris Masters just went by Big Chris. Big Chris trained at Ulitmate University. Big Chris was showcased in quite a for UPW Shows. Before he was the Mega King, Tommy Wilson worked the undercard for UPW. Tommy Wilson was always a tall guy, but was a little scrawny. Tommy Wilson put in work to get to where he is at today. Although Main Eventing both Empire Wrestling Federation’s show on Friday and SoCal Pro’s show next Saturday, Tommy Wilson is probably the least utilized guy in SoCal Today. It was just a month ago Tommy Wilson bested former WWE Superstar Marty Jannety for SoCal Pro. Tonight, the Mega King looks to go 2-0 against former WWE Superstars. If you can, get out to EWF’s Summer Blockbuster tonight.

talkNWA
We always try to talk to guys out there who are unknown to a bigger audience.  Obviously Arrick Andrews is a veritable unknown in Southern California.  But making his way in the South, Arrick “The Dragon” Andrews is turning heads, bringing a lot of attention to NWA Top Rope, where he along with top NWA Junior Derrick Neal and NWA World Woman Champion Tasha Simone make up the triumvirate of Simply Perfection. Tune into the last talkNWA of the month this Saturday.  10:30AM Pacific on Blogtalkradio.com.  You can call in to listen or chat at (646) 478-3019.
