Jay Cal’s View #88

Finally, the WWE Comes Back to the Staples Center, the clip of the week is from LAW’s Debut Show, did Scorpio Sky sign with TNA, big talkNWA this weekend, Loser Leaves Town and this week’s schedule of shows.

Clip of the Week
This match is from LAW’s debut show.  Their next show will be After Shock on September 22nd at 7962 Salt Lake Ave, Huntington Park.  This match featured Ray Rosas and Scorpio Sky.  As we reported earlier this week, Scorpio Sky is taking his talents not to South Beach, rather Orlando Florida.

Summer Slam – A Los Angeles Classic
I hate it when people talk about Southern California not being an important market for wrestling. East Coast Bias exist in all forms of professional sports. But luckily Angelinos, Vince McMahon doesn’t agree. Summer Slam will mark it’s 4th Appearance in a row at the  Staple Center.  It was last year in Jay Cal’s View #36 where I profiled CM Punk and John Cena who were squaring off.  They are facing each other with the Big Show in the Main Event.   One of the more talked about matches is Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H.  No word if Hunter wins if he gets a shot at Dos Santos Jr.    All kidding aside some of our favorites from SoCal Yesteryear return on one of the biggest nights in wrestling.  As previously mentioned WWE Champion Punk (PWG)  vs. Cena (UPW) vs.  Show.  Kane vs. Daniel Bryan (PWG/NWA Hollywood).  IC Title Match The Miz (UPW) vs. Rey Misterio.  US Championship Match Santino Marella vs. Antonio Cesaro (PWG/NWA Hollywood).

Scopio Sky Bound For Glory?
Rumors Have it that Mason Andrews will be returning to the Impact Zone very soon. It was announced earlier this week that the inaugural NWA Hollywood International Television Champion has signed with IMPACT Wrestling. The artist formerly known as Scorpio Sky had made two previous appearances for the company when another former NWA Hollywood Talent, Austin Aries, had forfeited his X-Division Championship as he challenged for that company’s #1 Championship. Scorpio Sky held the NWA Hollywood Championship for over a year. While Champion he faced off against Willie Mack, Johnny Yuma, Famous B, Ryan Taylor, and Nick Madrid. Scorpio in the past year was drafted for the tournament to crown a new NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, competed in his first MMA fight (winning by tap out), and even competed at the inaugural Urban Wrestling Federation PPV. Sky played and integral role in NWA Hollywood, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Lucha Vavoom. In just over a year and half, Aries made his debut with TNA, the tag team TMDK International was heavily featured on Impact, Joey Ryan took part in the Gut Check Challenge, Lars Only aka Johnny Yuma debuted in TNA around the same time Sky. The real question is, who’s next.

Loser Leaves Town
This is the End… my dear old friend. The feud that stretched from AWS to SoCal Pro culminates this Saturday Night in Oceanside where two men walk into the ring… but only one of them will wrestle again in SoCal Pro. Paradise and Crazy have feuded over championships titles, they’ve put their hair & mask on the line, but the bottom line is… SoCal Pro ain’t big enough for the both of them. This has been one of my favorite feuds in the past two years. Both men bring out the best in each other. If you’re going to SoCal Pro this weekend you’ll see the final match of either SoCal Crazy or Johnny Paradise. Will there be a new face of the franchise or will it be paradise lost? Stay tuned.
