Jay Cal’s View #83

The Clip of the Week is from NWA Hollywood at the Hot Import Nights, Congrats to TNA on Destination X, Warning if you’re going to Oceanside for Lucha Libre this weekend, Have you checked out Gary Yap’s Review of United Forces yet? And congrats to the new champions crowned this past weekend. All that and the 3 shows going down this weekend.

Clip of the Week
I am not a car guy at all. My little matrix is good enough for me. However there was an impromptu NWA Hollywood Exhibition at the Hot Import Nights. That might have got me out to the LA Convention Center. Reportedly some of the matches were taped. After talking to some who were involved, the show was a last minute deal.  Here’s a match of Kyle Webb taking on the Hobo.

Congrats to TNA on Destination X
I didn’t order the TNA Pay Per View. I didn’t see the matches. But I was following the results intensely. Congrats to Austin Aries for being crowned TNA World Heavyweight Champion! I’d also like to congratulate our own Mason Andrews (Scorpio Sky)  & Lars Only (Johnny Yuma)  for making it to the TNA Pay Per View.  Sky won the Last Chance 4 Corners Match to advance to the tournament.  Sky made it to the Ultimate X Match, but obviously didn’t win the X-Division Title.  Very proud of these guys, better make sure you catch them in SoCal, while you still can.  You never know when they’ll be gone.

Booked or not booked
Apparently there has been some conversation in the Lucha Forum with regards to the FMLL event taking place this Saturday in Oceanside. Masked Republic is reporting that Blue Demon Jr. is unaware of this booking. On the other hand, FMLL books Blue Demon Jr. all the time. As always, attend at your own risk, but if you are hoping for Demon Jr., you might be disappointed.

Gary Yap’s Video Show Review
Did you see Yap’s Video Review? Thought Gary did a very fair job and hope you all check out and discuss his reviews. Thanks to Gary for taking the time to do these video reviews. I think the only way they’d be better if it was shot a la Mystery Science Theater… but who has the time or money.

Congrats to new Champions
Extreme Loco ended Al Katrazz’s 24 hour AWS Heavyweight Champion Reign at the AWS 10th Anniversary Show. Al Katrazz defeated Johnny Goodtime at the United Forces show, which also saw Joey Ryan win his first EWF Heavyweight Championship. Joey went on later that weekend to attack Jarek Matthews at the Hollywood Import Nights.
