Jay Cal’s View #73

Shout to the Empire Wrestling Federation, celebrating 16 Years this Friday Night, Southern California is invaded this weekend by more than 6 Lucha Libre Matches, check out the Trashcast, news update on my NWA podcast, and thanks Chad!

16 Years of Wrestling in the Inland Empire
Over the past few months Southern California was fortunate enough to celebrate two Five Year Anniversaries.  New Wave Pro, who closed shop after its finale, and SoCal Pro, who seems to be on a roll as of lately.  5 Years seems like a long time for wrestling, but try 16 Years.  Taking a look back at a  17 Years Old, Jay Cal knew nothing of this glorious beast called indy wrestling.  Only had heard of guys like Louie Spicolli from his days as Rad Radford.  I had known nothing of guys like “The Miracle” Mikey Henderson, Christopher Daniels, Tim Patterson, Irish Assassin, Rico Canstantino, John Black,  Johnny Love, Dick Danger, “Cruiser” Eddie Williams, or Frankie Kazarian.  But in the heart of the Inland Empire, Jesse Hernandez had taken his many years of the wrestling experiences and opened up the Empire Wrestling Federation.  Aside the aforementioned names, many notorious wrestlers got their starts at the School of  Hard Knocks; Alex Koslov, Joey Ryan, TJ Perkins, Rocky Romero, Ricky Reyes, Shelly Martinez, Melina, and there are countless others.  I take off my proverbial hat, toast my proverbial class, but above all else thank Jesse Hernandez and those who’ve helped to shape EWF into what it is today.  To thank them for their sustainability in SoCal and their contributions into the Southern California Wrestling Scene.  Looking forward to many more.

Special Thanks to btwnchaosnorder
I don’t go to as many show as I would like to.  Thanks to the CHAOS COLUMN, I keep up to date with virtually every wrestling promotion in Southern California.  I appreciate all the work that’s done to make these articles happen.  So Thanks Chad!
