Jay Cal’s View #70

New NWA World Heavyweight Champion in Japan, Willie Mack going to CZW, updates on my podcast, Masked Warriors back in SoCal, Vendetta Pro is Tough Enough, but the Coalition might have the best show of the weekend. Ton of events this weekend, make your plans now.New NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion
It was Deja Vu all over again on Sunday. After a mere 390 some odd days, Colt Cabana defeated Adam Pearce for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. The last time Cabana won the title he was limited to a very short run. Cabana is already in Japan competing in the NOAH Global Tag League with Ring of Honor’s Eddie Edwards. However, on the 15th, Cabana has a one-on-one match against Ricky Marvin. Marvin a tremendous Junior Heavyweight and would be one hell of a challenge for Colt, but no formal announcement has been made if Cabana will actually defend the title in Japan. NWA Marks everywhere are hoping he does.

CZW’s Best of the Best
I think I can speak for everyone at SoCalUNCENSORED when I say we wish Willie Mack all the luck in the world for the CZW tournament. CZW ‘Best of the Best’ airs LIVE on iPPV (at HybridEnt.tv) this Saturday, April 14 with a bell time 4:30PM Pacific. Names familiar with PWG fans are also in the tournament, Chuck Taylor and Sami Callihan

Talk NWA
This weeks talkNWA will feature Chaz Taylor. Fans of the old Global Wrestling Federation from the early 90s might remember Chaz and his father Tugboat Taylor. Chaz is still actively competing for NWA Lonestar in the Houston Texas area.

Masked Warriors
Lucha Libre USA returns to Southern California. There first event took place in SoCal so its kind of interesting to see them running out here once again as part of a Regional Tour. The Masked Warriors Program still airs in remote markets, but I think they’re done with MTV. I believe this show was originally scheduled for the Long Beach Pyramid, guess that fell through. I have heard or seen much publicity for this event. If only Lucha Libre USA could have contacted a website based in Southern California that focuses on wrestling to maybe help spread the word, maybe offering special ticket pricing to visitors of said website to help garner attention for their brand. Oh well.

Vendetta Pro Main Event
The Tough Enough Steam is still generating attention in SoCal. It was just a few weeks ago AJ Kirsch and Big Nasty Eric Watts faced off against each other in Utah. But the match that might just steal the show is the Tri-Force Championship Match.

The Coalition Kicks off this Saturday
Lalo Gonzales has painstakingly put together what I feel is in an incredibly stacked card. B-Boy vs. Jarek Matthews should be a lot of fun, Scorpio Sky vs. Joey Ryan is always incredible, but 3-Way Elimination Tag Team Match
TMDK vs The A-List vs Anchors Away will blow minds. TMDK will be heading back to NOAH very soon.
