Preview of BPW’s ”Red White & Bruised” 07/31/2010

“Red, White & Bruised”, a Closer Look:
Hey it’s your ol’ buddy Stepdaddy, owner of Battleground Pro Wrestling here to take you through some of the matches you’ll see in our July 31st summer spectacular “Red, White & Bruised”! Twice a year we at Battleground Pro like to blow the roof off the joint in what I like to call a “Pain-Per-View”. Hell yeah it’s Pain to watch these shows, because guys are getting their heads smashed in! Old-school pain and retribution rule the day as our wrestlers are allowed to name stipulations and show us all how far they’ll go to win. Our normally family-friendly show has to be extreme because that’s the only way these rivalries can end!

BPW Heavyweight Championship

In June “Big Nasty” Jason Watts along with his manager Christian Cole defeated Extreme Loco to win the Battleground Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. This upset broke hearts all through the audience as BPW’s favorite champ of all time was robbed of his title. Extreme Loco had held onto his Heavyweight Championship belt for an impressive 8 months, but at the last show his streak was broken. This was a terribly controversial match, marred by nonstop shenanigans from Watts & manager Cole. Referee Patrick Hernandez was knocked out briefly and Cole snatched the Champ’s belt from the timekeeper’s table to be used as a weapon against Loco.

Moments after the heart-breaking loss, audience-favorite Loco announced he knew this screw-job was coming and had already requested (and been granted) his rematch against Watts at “Red, White & Bruised”! The stipulation? The Heavyweight Championship will be on the line in an all-out Street Fight. No DQ, pins count anywhere, weapons are allowed and Loco promises anyone who interferes will be carried away by either EMTs or pallbearers. July 31st is right around the corner, but it can’t come too soon for a BPW fan!

BPW Maximum Championship

At our June show “WMD!” Robbie Phoenix defeated Max Champ Anthony “Tank” Alvarado via disqualification. Battleground titles cannot be won via DQ therefore Tank retained his BPW Maximum Championship.

For months Phoenix the determined challenger has proven he can be the man to strip the BPW Max belt from Tank’s ample waist. Phoenix has just one problem: Alavrado’s manager Rufio Vega. In May Vega interfered by surreptitiously pushing Robbie’s foot off the rope during a pin attempt, manufacturing a win for Tank. In June Team Tank raised the stakes by forcing Phoenix into the ropes where they choked him into unconsciousness. The refs could not pull Tank off his victim and it took a run-in by BPW owner Stepdaddy (that’s me!) to chase away both Alvarado and Vega.

After the fight it was Stepdaddy himself who named Tank’s next match for July 31st’s “Red White & Bruised”: Tank Alvarado must face Robbie Phoenix one last time in a bloody “No Ropes/Weapon-on-a-Pole Match”! In one corner will be hung a barbed wire bat, in another a bag of thumbtacks. The match participants will choose the final two weapons and bloody battle will be waged until either Tank or Phoenix hoists the Battleground Pro Maximum Championship.

5X5 Contract Combat

At “Red White & Bruised” it’ll be LOUcha Machine v. Damien Arsenick v. Dragon Mask v. Seville Alvarez v. Famous B in the first ever 5X5 Contract Combat. This match is an Over-the-Top-Rope Elimination and the winner will receive a one-year BPW contract and a spot in one of the hardest-to-get-into locker rooms in SoCal pro wrestling.

BPW fans at our June show saw LOUcha Machine score the final pinfall and win the Wildcard Spot in July’s 5X5 Contract Combat. The three men who lost to LOU got an unexpected break when it was announced that Sheik Khan Adabi had been placed (wrongfully we’re sure) on a “No Fly” list and wouldn’t be back from Iran soon enough to participate in the 5X5. Hot lucha-legend-in-the-making Dragon Mask took that spot when he pinned Ray Rosas after turning on partner-in-crime Jeremy Jaeger, tossing him out of the ring.

Going into July’s “Red, White & Bruised” the 5X5 Contract Combatants will do everything they in their power to win. Prepare to see some crazy stuff but expect to see sheer insanity!

Tag-Team Extra Point Scramble:

The point-based Tag Team Round-Robin Tournament will climax in September, when the two teams with the highest point scores fight to see who will wear the Battleground Pro Tag Team Championship belts. In June the tournament roared out of the starting gate with a dirty yet decisive win for Lyonz & Dillinger over Foob Dogg & Mikey Callahan aka PCH.

In the second tag match of our June show the always popular Latin Heartthrobs dramatically beat the always dangerous Stepfamily, but at a price. Heartthrob Val Viper is now too injured to continue and the team is out of the tournament. BPW wishes the Heartthrobs the very best in the months to come but July 31st is almost here and everyone wants to know: what team can possibly replace Val Viper & Hector “El Chido” Canales? And what will become of that point The Heartthrobs were force to forfeit?

It’s now official:

1) There will be a replacement team added to the tournament

2) The point in question will be awarded at “Red, White & Bruised” to the team who scores the quickest win.

The Stepfamily (“The Stepchild” Buford Tucker & “Drunk” Uncle Ronnie) will take on The Pacific Coast Heroes (Foob Dogg & Mikey Callahan). “Criminal” Chris Lyonz & Mike Dillinger are cackling over their 1 point lead in the tournament and feel they have a huge advantage as they face the new team. Who will they be? You’ll have to buy a ticket to “Red, White & Bruised” to find out!

There’s a lot more in this show, we’ll post updates for you in the days to come. Hope you’ll join us, this show is going to be huge …just like your ol’ Stepdaddy!
