New card for Battle Ground Pro on Sat Jan 13, 2007 in Newhall, CA!

Ah yes indeed. Sometimes things happen and they are totally out of your control. This is one of those cases. Due to unforseen circumstances Battle Ground Pro Wrestling has been forced to announce some major changes to our return card on Saturday January 13, 2007 at the American Legion Hall in Newhall, CA. When things happen that aren’t best case scenarios, one is left with two choices-you can fold like a house of cards, or you can play the hand you’re dealt and try to make the best of it. We are choosing the latter. We think we’ve managed to come up with a great card to replace the original one, and will be doing our very, very best to put on a great show. We hope to see you there. Here’s the preview:

Ladies and gentlemen, Battle Ground Pro Wrestling officially returns to the American Legion Hall in Newhall, CA on Saturday January 13th, 2007 with our first show of the New Year! Last year was amazing for Battle Ground Pro, and we plan to raise the stakes and up the ante every chance we get in 2007. Here is what is in store for you on January 13th!Main Event for the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title: “Brawlin” Bo Cooper (C) vs. “The Havana Pitbull” Rocky Romero
At “November Pain” Bo Cooper emerged still Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion despite some major controversy in his win over bitter rival “The Rock Superstar” Kaos. Now Commissioner Bennett continues his mission to wrest the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title from the tattooed hands of Bo Cooper by bringing in arguably one of the most dangerous men on the SoCal-wrestling scene today. Rocky Romero is known all over the globe as one of the very best. He has competed extensively and won titles in Japan, Ring of Honor, NWA TNA, and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He may very well be the most technically skilled and dangerous man Bo Cooper has ever faced. Will he be the one to grant Commissioner Bennett’s Christmas wish of a new heavyweight champion? Find out January 13th!

Semi Main Event for the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling MAX Title: “Marvelous” Markus Riot (C) vs. Hook Bomberry.
At “November Pain”, young Markus Riot won the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Lucha Libre Title in an amazing four-way elimination match against Infernal (then champion), Silver Tyger, and former champion Li’l Cholo. That title has now been renamed the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling MAX Title, a nod to both UIWA and PCW who had the title before us, and our lineage to those late, great companies. The MAX Title is very similar to the NWA TNA X-Division Title, so you will see some of the very best high flyers, cruiserweights, and luchadores compete for the MAX Title in Battle Ground Pro. Riot faces his first challenge for the newly won championship in none other than the extremely capable Hook Bomberry. Hook has been in some impressive matches in Battle Ground Pro, including a victory over the likes of Australian sensation Mikey Nichols in a SoCal Uncensored.com Match of the Year candidate. This one has the makings of a classic!

Four Corner Elimination Tag Team Match to determine the next #1 contenders to the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Tag Team Titles: The Young Bucks (Slick Nick & Mr. Instant Replay) vs. The Stepfamily (The Stepfather & Red Headed Stepchild w/”Drunk” Uncle Ronnie) vs. Devilishly Sexy (Diablo & “Sexy” Sonny Samson) vs. Midnight Dynamite (Charles Mercury & Johnny Paradise).
The Commissioner giveth, and the Commissioner taketh away! No sooner had he announced the rematch between the Stepfamily and his team, the tag team champions Crayz & The Awesome Plague comes the announcement that the champs get the night off! Instead, the top four teams in Battle Ground Pro will compete in a four-way elimination match to determine who indeed gets the first shot at the belts. The Stepfamily felt cheated out of the titles at “November Pain” and is looking for payback. Devilishly Sexy have yet to taste victory in BiG Pro and know this is their chance at the big time. And can the two teams with the long running feud in BiG Pro put their animosities aside enough to keep their eyes on the ultimate prize? As a certain TV broadcaster would say, this one’s going to be a slobber knocker!

Li’l Cholo vs. Bobby Joe Marshall.
Li’l Cholo, one of the most popular stars of Battle Ground Pro Wrestling, came within inches of becoming a two time BiG Pro Lucha Libre Champion at “November Pain”. Bobby Joe Marshall is a strapping young lad from the land Down Under capable of inflicting tremendous punishment on his opponents. Marshall was last seen in Battle Ground Pro earlier this year against fellow Australian Mikey Nichols in a match that saw the two men nearly literally chop each other to a pulp. Can Cholo regain his momentum or will the big Aussie take him down?

“The Wholesome Hero” J.T. Hyatt vs. “The Role Model” Preston Scott w/Ray “Boom-Boom” Murillo.
If there is a more devious wrestler in BiG Pro than Preston Scott, then someone please tell me! At “November Pain” Preston fooled all the fans in attendance, and “The Wholesome Hero” into thinking he was going to be fair and impartial as the special enforcer. The post match beat down he laid on JT Hyatt proved he couldn’t be any further from reformed. JT Hyatt has been betrayed and attacked one too many times in Battle Ground Pro, and this time he’s out for blood. Can Hyatt get the revenge he seeks without tarnishing his “Wholesome” image? Can Preston Scott’s devious nature coupled with the wild card in his personal security officer Ray “Boom-Boom” Murillo take down the popular star? This one could get very, very ugly.

Junior Old School vs. Foob Dogg.
Rookie meets veteran as young upstart Junior Old School returns to Battle Ground Pro to take on crowd favorite Foob Dogg. No one had a more surprising year in Battle Ground Pro than Foob Dogg who emerged as one of the most popular wrestlers in BiG Pro defeating Scott Lost in an amazing match back in Sept and thrilling the crowd by pummeling Commissioner Bennett in their 5 minute challenge in October. Can his power overcome the speed and brash attitude of the youngster?

Plus much more including the still undefeated Joey Harder, Chimaera, Brandon Nitro, the Battle Ground Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Awesome Plague & Crayz, maybe a surprise or two, and what will happen when “The Rock Superstar” Kaos returns to address the controversial ending to his title match at “November Pain”?? Also, Commissioner Jason Bennett will start the show off with his “State of the Company” address that is sure to set the tone for the year 2007 in Battle Ground Pro Wrestling. This show promises to be one no one will ever forget!

The American Legion Hall is located at 24527 Spruce St. in Newhall, CA. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the show starts promptly at 8pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for kids. We have a full service concession stand with soft drinks, snacks, and beer. We will also have DVDs of both the October and November shows for sale at the show. Check us out online!
