NWA Returns to San Diego

The NWA Pro Report by Marco Nelson

For the first time in almost two decades, the fans of San Diego will have NWA wrestling action in their hometown! NWA Pro wrestling is proud to announce the first of what we hope to be many shows to take place in “America’s Finest City.” Please join us in celebrating this historic event as the National Wrestling Alliance brings its brand of pure athleticism and competition to the downtown YMCA. We’re sure this will be a memorable evening for all involved and we hope to see you there. Main Event – NWA British Commonwealth Championship Match
Champion: Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson
Challenger: Babi Slymm

Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson has been on a tear since coming to the West Coast in January. The Pipestone, MN native has defeated nearly every man placed in front of him on his way to capturing the British Commonwealth Title, the second highest ranking title in the NWA behind only Christian Cage’s NWA World Heavyweight Title. Despite the hot streak that Anderson has been on, there was one man who was able to stop him. At the last NWA Pro event at the Alternative Wrestling Show, Anderson fell in a non-title match at the hands of the one and only Babi Slymm!

Southeast San Diego’s own CEO of Keep It Gangsta, Babi Slymm, returns to his hometown with one thing on his mind – GOLD! But this isn’t the typical bling bling that we are used to seeing Slymm wear. The attention that Anderson has received as NWA BC Champion is just what Slymm is looking for and with one win under his belt against the Machine Gun, many believe this will be Anderson’s toughest challenge to date! Winning the belt would be an incredible accomplishment for Slymm, winning it in his hometown would be a dream come true. Slymm vs. Anderson for the NWA British Commonwealth Title! Be there!

Al Katrazz (w/Mr. Vander Pyle) vs. Johnny Goodtime
At the last NWA Pro/AWS event a changing of the guard took place as Al Katrazz, with help from his manager Vander Pyle, took home the AWS Title after a lengthy reign by the Human Tornado. Now, Al Katrazz comes back to his landlocked hometown of San Diego looking to establish himself as the best there as well. Johnny Goodtime has spent the past several years doing everything in his power to make his mark in the wrestling business. With several victories under his belt in the NWA at the Inoki Dojo, Goodtime now looks to shine in NWA Pro’s San Diego debut. Does Goodtime have what it takes to get the big man from the big house off his feet or will he be just another victim?

TJ “Pinoy Boy” Perkins vs. “The Russian Hooligan” Alex Koslov
These two phenomenal athletes have wowed the crowds of Southern California in several memorable match-ups over the past year. Perkins is fresh off winning the 2006 Best of the West tournament while Koslov has rebounded well from tournament losses to regain his status as one of the top grapplers in the area. Both men are gunning for title shots at the NWA British Commonwealth Title as well as the other titles throughout the NWA and a victory here could spell gold in on man’s future. Perkins and Koslov train together and know each other well. It will take more than a little luck to win this battle. Come see who survives!

Shawn Riddick vs. Tommy Wilson
This anticipated battle will feature two local San Diego fighters as Shawn Riddick and Tommy Wilson each make their debuts for NWA Pro Wrestling. This match has significant history behind it as it has almost happened on four different occasions in different SoCal federations. Each previously scheduled match-up was changed at the last minute due to injury, show cancellation, car problems and more. Each man has felt that there was a reason for this delay and that it must have been so that they could meet up under the NWA banner. This time it will finally happen! Shawn Riddick vs. Tommy Wilson, two of San Diego’s own take to the ring!

PLUS exciting action featuring Lil’ Nate, Midnight Dynamite (Charles Mercury & Johnny Paradise), Mikey Nicholls, Tim & Jack Manley, Bobby Jo Marshall and more! Don’t miss this historic event as the National Wrestling Alliance makes its long awaited return to sunny San Diego!
