SoCal News & Notes – April 13th, 2004

Just a lite update this week as wrestling has slowed down a little in the area with Easter this past weekend. Anyway, click below for this week’s edition of News & Notes.-The next UPW “Mat Wars” show will be on May 15, the day before the WWE Judgment Day pay-per-view in Los Angeles, which will create a double header of sorts with Rev Pro running that afternoon and UPW running in the evening.

-Super Dragon will be heading to Belgium to wrestle for the Belgian Wrestling Federation on April 24th. He is replacing Scorpio Sky who can’t make the show, in a match with Mike Quackenbush and Shark Boy.

-The Havana Pitbulls will be debuting for Ring of Honor on their April 23rd show in St. Paul, MN.

-Pinoy Boy and Chad Wicks will be wrestling each other in their first match of the Young Lions Cup round robin tournament in New Japan on their April 17 show in Beppu, Japan. The Young Lions Cup will last until April 27th. We’ll keep you up to date on Pinoy Boy and Chad Wick’s progress throughout the tournament.

-Quicksilver suffered a pinched nerve in his neck during his match with Super Dragon on April 7th’s Revolution X show. He is not expected to miss any bookings due to the injury.

-Bo Cooper is suffering from an injury in his left ear, in which there is blood in the ear, and has lost hearing in it. He wont miss any bookings at this time.

-Jason Bennett will be retiring (for what that’s worth in wrestling) from working matches and will only be managing due to injuries.

-Next week I will have news and notes from this weekend’s shows.
