PWG announces dates, first entrants into the 2016 Battle of Los Angeles

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has announced the first participants in the 2016 Battle of Los Angeles tournament via their official Twitter account, set to take place September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Cody Rhodes was announced as the first official entrant in the tournament. Rhodes, the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes and brother of WWE superstar Goldust, will be making his PWG debut at the tournament. On June 6th, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla posted a Tweet hinting at Rhodes’ participation at this event.

The 2nd entrant announced for the tournament will be the returning Kamaitachi, who made his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla debut at PWG’s May 20th, 2016 event against Michael Elgin. Kamaitachi is known for his work in NJPW, CMLL and has recently began appearing in Ring Of Honor. This will be Kamaitachi’s first Battle of Los Angeles tournament.

Also making his return will be Jeff Cobb, who was announced as the third entrant into the 2016 Battle of Los Angeles. Cobb made his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla debut against Chris Hero on May 20th, 2016. This will be Cobb’s first Battle of Los Angeles tournament.

The fourth entrant in the tournament will be UK independent wrestling star Mark Haskins, who will be making his PWG debut at the tournament. Haskins is known for his work in PROGRESS Wrestling and has made appearances in TNA. This will be Haskins’ first Battle of Los Angeles tournament.
