BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of NWA Pro/Mach-1’s “Friday Fight Night” from the American Sports Center. Near-capacity crowd for this show to start off Patriot Weekend, and Anaheim was quite busy w/ an Angels Baseball game & all the typical weekend Disneyland Resort festivities.
1 – Todd Chandler p. Dynamico w/ a finishing suplex. Would like to see more from Dynamico–a rookie masked luchador–before I make any judgments on his progress.
2 – Ridiculously Bigg (Ridiculoso & Mr. Biggz) def. Eric Cross & Johnny Saovi when Ridiculoso p. Eric Cross w/ the Slingshot Legdrop.
3 – Shaun Rickers p. Mikey O’Shea w/ a 300+-lb. “Evil to Dark” T-Bone Suplex. Great show of power & athleticism by both men, especially Rickers, who was fresh off of his EWF Heavyweight Championship win over Ryan Taylor the previous Friday in Covina.
4 – Brian Weston & Chris Kadillak def. Luis Tapia & Angel Lopez when Brian Weston p. Luis Tapia off of Chris Kadillak’s Frog Splash. Good tag team action.
SM – “PWG Preview” match after intermission. The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky) def. The Super Smash Brothers (Player Uno & Player Dos) when Scorpio Sky p. Player Uno w/ the Ace of Spades, off of his Running Bicycle Knee strike, followed by Joey Ryan’s “End Stage” Superkick. Great mix of action & comedy, which obviously makes it my match of the night. With that in mind, I think The SSB’s will feel right at home in PWG, and both The Young Bucks & The RockNES Monsters are going to have to earn their wins in Reseda.
M – Nick Madrid def. Kyle Webb by DQ for a low blow. Slow, methodical match by both men, and Kyle Webb made several attempts to bring a chair into the ring, although he was successful in placing a chair in the corner between the top & middle rope, and rammed Nick’s head into it. Nick wasn’t satisfied w/ the DQ win, though, and gave Kyle a pair of his signature moves to close the 90-min. show.
