What’s Good About SoCal

With all the negative talk about the SoCal indy wrestling scene in the past few months, I thought I might remind some of you why we love the SoCal scene so much. It is kind of a list which I know is not really allowed, but I thought the timing was right. I bring to you, the ABC’s of SoCal…
A – Aerial Express (Scorpio Sky & Quicksilver): Getting a chance to see these young stars blossom over the last 2 years has been amazing.
B – Bart (AWS Owner): Thank you Bart for all that you have done and continue to do to keep the SoCal scene alive.
C – “Come and knock on my door”: Singing [the Three’s Company theme] during the Mike Vega match [from PCW] to repay his online antics was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in wrestling.
D – Disco Machine: “Everyone wants to get down like that”
E – Excalibur: He keeps us in stitches and knocks out the bitches!
F – Frank & Sons Arena: So many great shows and fun times.
G – Greatest Indy Feud EVER! (Super Dragon vs. TARO): To say we were lucky to have witnessed this war would be the understatement of the century.
H – Havana Pitbulls: Ricky, Rocky and Puma. Oh my!
I – INDY WRESTLING: It’s Fantastic!
J – Joey Ryan Fan: Greatest fan in wrestling history! One of the funniest and nicest guys I’ve ever met.
K – King of SoCal: SUPER DRAGON. ‘Nuff said!
L – Lucha Libre: No other place in the U.S. gets the lucha talent we get to see on a regular basis.
M – Mi Familia: Joey Ryan Fan said it best, when he refered to us as his weekend family. For all the trash people talk about wrestling fans and workers, they have been some of the best people I’ve ever known.
N – New Japan Inoki Dojo: They have done wonders for the local workers and have allowed us a chance to see some rarely seen Japanese talent.
O – OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE: Samoa Joe and all his bodysmashing goodness.
P – PWG: See letters A, D, E, K, O, T, U, V, W, X and Y.
Q – Quicksilver: So nice I had to mention him twice! How can you not love this guy? Best pose ever!
R – Revolution Pro: – Can’t say enough about what RevPro has meant to SoCal wrestling. They are responsible for some of the greatest matches and workers in recent SoCal history. Thank you for 5 great years.
S – SoCalUNCENSORED: Steve and Scrub, the pulse of the SoCal indies, have done a ton of work to keep the scene alive just because they love the sport.
T – Tornado: the Human Tornado, his pimp hand is strong!
U – Undercard Wrestlers: These guys bust their collective asses for little or no money just for the love of wrestling. Can’t say how much I respect you all. All the bumps for very little glory. We have the best undercards in Indy wrestling in my opinion! You may not always hear it, but you are all very appreciated.
V – Vanderpyle: The best manager to come down the pike in years. Brings that extra old school flavor that the scene is often lacking.
W – WRESTLING: We have some of the best Indy workers, feds and matches on the planet. The envy of most Indy fans for what we are given every month. DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED! [Editor’s Note: Taken from the SCU messageboard… “I lost to ‘Wrestling’? Can I be Zebb, then?” – Johnny Webb]
X – X-Foundation: The backbone of the SoCal Indy scene. SoCal’s true workhorses.
Y – “YA MORONS”: “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce’s promos are as good as they come in the Indy scene. The man we love to hate.
Z – ZIP YOUR LIPS! Try to remember what makes you such a fan of this great sport of wrestling and quit trying to tear the scene down. It’s supposed to be fun, remember?
