Knokx Pro Entertainment will be taking part in the Long Beach Comic Con on September 8 and 9. As part of the convention wrestlers from the promotion, including WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, will be doing autograph signings and holding wrestling matches throughout the convention. The 2018 Long Beach Comic Con is the tenth annual event for the convention, and this will be the first time that there have been pro-wrestling matches as part of the Long Beach Comic Con since 2011.
Along with Rikishi, Knokx Pro have also announced Black Pearl, Sefa Fatu, VIP, Akanesi, Otto Von Clutch, Krakken Zero, Bison, K Dubb, and Sgt. Stu SA as appearing at the convention. Knokx Pro’s events will be taking place on the upper right side of the convention, near the Space Expo.
Mach One Pro Wrestling, which was promoted by Jon Ian, held events during the first three Long Beach Comic Cons in 2009 through 2011. The events, which were titled Wrath of Con, featured a M1W Heavyweight Championship defense on each show. Most notably, in 2010 Willie Mack defended the M1W Heavyweight Championship against Christopher Daniels. Wrestlers such as Scotty 2 Hotty, Paul London, Joey Ryan, TJ Perkins, Brian Cage, Candice LeRae, Scorpio Sky, and Rocky Romero all appeared for Mach One Pro Wrestling during their Long Beach Comic Con events.
While this will be the first wrestling event as part of the Long Beach Comic Con since 2011, the Long Beach Convention Center has hosted pro-wrestling more recently, as New Japan Pro Wrestling held their G1 Special in the United States events there in July 2017. WWF/WWE have also held wrestling events at the arena that is part of the Long Beach Convention Center, but never on the convention floor itself.
Tickets for this year’s Long Beach Comic Con are available now and range from $50.00 for a Saturday ticket, $35.00 for Sunday, and a weekend pass for $70.00. There are also special tickets that include meet and greets with select celebrities available as well.
A schedule for Knokx Pro’s autograph signings and wrestling matches has not yet been finalized.
