Combate Americas returns to Southern California for “Camino a Copa Combate,” set to take place at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA on September 28th, 2018.
Combate Americas’ “Camino a Copa Combate” is currently scheduled to feature two, one-round featherweight bouts with the winners each getting a spot in the upcoming one-night, $100,000 Copa Combate tournament later this year.
In the first of the two Copa Combate tournament qualifying bouts, Erick “The Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez (MMA Record: 8-2) of Redondo Beach will be going up against Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (MMA Record: 14-2). Erick Gonzalez will be going into this bout coming off a win at Combate Estrellas 1 in Los Angeles earlier this year on April 13th, where he scored a first-round TKO victory over Danny Ramirez. His opponent, Andres Quintana, will be going into this bout riding a four-fight winning streak. In his last outing earlier this year, Quintana defeated Marco Antonio Elpidio at Combate Americas: Mexico vs. The World on May 18th.
In the other Copa Combate tournament qualifying bout of the night, Pablo “El Gallo Negro” Sabori (MMA Record: 8-4) will go up against Alejandro “El Gallito” Flores (MMA Record: 12-1). Pablo Sabori heads into this bout with a finishing rate of 100%. Sabori will go into this bout coming off a TKO victory over Andrew Lagdaan on July 29th, 2017 at Brave CF 7, where he snapped a two-bout losing skid. His opponent, Alejandro Flores, will be heading into his bout riding a four fight winning streak, last defeating Victor Madrigal earlier this year at Combate Americas: Combate Estrellas 2 in Mexico on April 20th.
Tickets for Combate Americas’ “Camino a Copa Combate” are currently available at www.longbeachstate.com and at Ticketon.com. Prices range from $30 for General Admission tickets, to $91 for cageside seats.
Combate Americas’ “Camino a Copa Combate” will air live on Univision Deportes Network at 9:00 PM PT. Prelim bouts begin at 7:00 PM.
