FIST Combat Announces King of SoCal Tournament

FIST Combat has announced the dates and participants in its first King of SoCal tournament that will be taking place over five events starting in September and going through December. The tournament will consist of 16 wrestlers split into two blocks and have a single elimination format, with all matches taking place at Jolt’n Joes in La Mesa.

The eight wrestlers in Block A are Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, 2017 Southern California Wrestler of the Year Eli Everfly, Ryan Kidd, Dirty Doug, Dirty Ron McDonald, Danny Limelight, and Vandagriff. First round matches for Block A will be taking place on September 6, 2018. Both Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin will be making their San Diego area debuts.

Block B includes Brian Cage, Douglas James, Royce Issacs, Anthony Idol, Max McManus, B-Boy, and the winners of two qualifying matches. The qualifying matches will be taking place at the August 16 FIST Combat event in La Mesa and will be Randy Order versus Couch Potato Carl and a battle between tag-team partners with KC Douglas versus Michael Hopkins. First round matches for Block B will take place on October 4, 2018. Joey Ryan was originally scheduled to be in Block B but had to pull out due to a prior commitment.

The first round matches are going to be announced in mid-August.

The quarterfinals of the King of SoCal tournament will be taking place on November 15, 2018; the semifinals will be on December 6, 2018; and the finals will take place on December 20, 2018.

Individual tickets for each show will cost $15.00 for reserved seating and $10.00 for general admission if purchased in advance. Prices will go up by $5.00 at the door. FIST Combat will also be doing two package deals that include tickets to all shows. Their Prince of the Ring package will cost $50.00 and include general admission tickets to all five events plus a King of SoCal t-shirt. FIST Combat plans to have a Queen of SoCal tournament taking place in January and February 2019 as well.

FIST Combat’s next event is on August 16 at Jolt’n Joes in La Mesa and features the 2017 Southern California Tag-Team of the Year True Grit versus Jeff Cobb and B-Boy. The show will also include Funnybone versus Vandagriff and the two King of SoCal qualifying matches.

All FIST Combat events at Jolt’n Joes are ages 21 and up.
