Earlier tonight, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla announced the first round and non-tournament matches for this year’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament. Six first round matches will be taking place on nights one and two, with one non-tournament tag-team or six-man match taking place each night as well.
Earlier it was also announced that Matthew Riddle would not be taking place in this year’s BOLA as originally announced, and that Trevor Lee would be replacing him. It has been widely rumored that Matthew Riddle has signed with WWE and has canceled most upcoming independent bookings. This will be Trevor Lee’s fifth straight BOLA. He previously made it to the finals in 2016.
The first round tournament matches announced for night one are: Adam Brooks versus Rey Horus, Flamita versus Puma King, David Starr versus Joey Janela, Bandido versus T-Hawk, CIMA versus Jody Fleisch, and Brody King versus PCO. In a non-tournament tag-team match Ilja Dragunov and Shingo Takagi will be taking on Ringkampf (Timothy Thatcher and WALTER).
On night two of PWG’s 2018 Battle of Los Angeles, Bandido, Flamita, and Rey Horus will face CIMA, Zachary Wentz, and Dezmond Xavier in a non-tournament match. The first round tournament matches scheduled for night two are: Chris Brookes versus Trevor Lee, Robbie Eagles versus DJ Z, Darby Allin versus Jeff Cobb, Ilja Dragunov versus Jonah Rock, Travis Banks versus Shingo Takagi, and WALTER versus Timothy Thatcher.
Night three of the 2018 Battle of Los Angeles will see Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M) take on The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier) for the PWG World Tag Titles and the second round through finals of the tournament.
The 2018 Battle of Los Angeles will be taking place on September 14 through 16 at the Globe Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. Tickets for all three nights of the 2018 Battle of Los Angeles go on sale Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific.
