SoCal News & Notes 11/17/2016

In today’s Southern California wrestling news and notes we have updates from PCW, Sabotage, PWG, AWS, FCW, Knoxk Pro, and more. Click to read today’s update.

PCW has started announcing more talent for their January 20, 2017 show. While Willie Mack challenging Rob Van Dam for the PCW Heavyweight title was previously announced, this week so far they have announced Lio Rush, Jeff Cobb, Drago, Pentagon Jr., Brody King, Douglas James, Almighty Sheik, Timothy Thatcher, Joey Janela, Fatu, Mr. 450, Keepers of the Faith, and the return of Joe Graves. Lio Rush and Joey Janela are making their SoCal debuts. They have stated there will be additional talent announcements as well. I am told Low Ki will be on their March show, but PCW has not yet confirmed. [Update: Low Ki was added to their January show] Tickets for their January 20th show are on sale now.

Sabotage has announced the addition of Ruby Raze, Delilah Doom, Kimmy Shellhammer, and Kaitlin Diemond have been added to their 16 woman championship tournament that will take place on their February 18, 2017 show. Buggy Nova and Ray Lyn were previously announced.

The show will be at the UEW Arena located at 926 Clela Ave in Los Angeles. Tickets will be $20 each and $30 for front row. Front row tickets are limited to 40. Bell time is 8:00 pm.

PWG announced they will be running on December 16th with Marty Scurll challenging Zack Sabre Jr. for the PWG World title on the show. They haven’t released any other information yet, but the show will be at the American Legion in Reseda.

With Adam Thornstowe being injured, AWS has replaced Reno Scum in the match against B-Boy and Lil’ Cholo with Andy Brown and Adrian Quest on the November 26th show. As Andy Brown was originally scheduled to face Brody King, Luster the Legend will be taking his place in the match.

Baja Stars USA will hold their next show in January at the Montgomery Waller Rec. Center in San Diego. An exact date and talent are expected to be announced later this week.

FCW will be running on February 11, 2017 in Imperial Beach. Twisted Sisters (Thunder Rosa & Holidead) will be making their return to the promotion.

EWF will be running at the Esther Snyder Community Center in Baldwin Park on February 4, 2017.

The movie “Kingdom of Gladiators: The Tournament“, which stars a lot of wrestlers from Knokx Pro, was an official selection of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. Reno Anoa’I (Black Pearl), Joseph Parisi (VIP), Rikishi, Jezette Marie, and Danielle Kamela (who signed with WWE earlier this year) are all in the film.

Joey Ryan and Candice LeRae will be returning to DDT Pro in Japan in December and Laura James will be making her DDT Pro debut. Both Candice LeRae and Laura James will be wrestling on DDT Pro’s women’s promotion, Tokyo Joshi Pro, show on January 4th at Korakuen Hall as well.

The first webpoll for the 2016 Southern California year-end awards will open on December 7th and will be the first match of the year poll, covering January through April.
