UFC 208 to take place in Anaheim, CA on January 21, 2017

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Wednesday on UFC Tonight that it will be bringing the Octagon back to the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA for UFC 208 on January 21st, 2017. This will be the UFC’s first event in Anaheim, CA since UFC 157 on Feb 23rd, 2013, featuring the first ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship fight between then champion Ronda Rousey defending her title against Liz Carmouche.

UFC 208 won’t be the only major Mixed Martial Arts event to take place that day in Southern California, as Bellator MMA will be running at the Forum in Inglewood, CA that night when they present Bellator 170: Sonnen vs. Ortiz on Spike TV featuring Chael Sonnen taking on Tito Ortiz in the main event. The Forum also played host to UFC 199 on June 4th, 2016.

This will be the UFC’s seventh event at the Honda Center. Previous events that have taken place at Honda Center include UFC 59, UFC 63, UFC 76, UFC 121, UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. dos Santos, and UFC 157. UFC 208 will be available on Pay-Per-View, with prelims taking place on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
