SoCal News & Notes 06/20/2016

A quick news update today with info on FCW, WWE Raw and Smackdown returning to SoCal, Knokx Pro in the movies, CWFH, and more.

FCW will be making more announcements soon about their lineups for their July 22nd and July 23rd shows. Front row for both nights have already sold out. Vermin (Yuma & Kevin Martenson) and Eli Everfly are scheduled to return, and Joey Ryan will be facing Minnesota indy wrestler Cooter on July 23rd. Previously announced were B-Boy & Lil’ Cholo vs. Pentagon Jr. & Fenix and Joey Ryan & Douglas James vs. Laura James & Heather Monroe for July 22nd and Jeff Cobb vs. B-Boy for the FCW title, Brian Cage vs. Rey Horus, and Thunder Rosa vs. Holidead for July 23rd. This will be the first singles meeting between B-Boy and Jeff Cobb.

WWE will be returning to SoCal with Monday Night Raw from Anaheim on August 8th and Smackdown from Bakersfield on August 9th. Tickets for both shows go on sale this Friday.

There has been no update on the Royal Rumble. Over the weekend it was widely announced that the Royal Rumble will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, even with on sale dates and presale codes. Late Sunday night WWE said the reports were incorrect. We will update the story as it develops.

Knokx Pro will have a taping for their upcoming Vault TV show, which will be released free online this weekend on June 25th. Their next taping will be July 16th. Check the events page for more information on both.

Speaking of Knokx Pro, they have co-produced a sequel to the 2011 film “Kingdom of Gladiators.” The sequel, titled “Kingdom of Gladiators: The Tournament.” The film also stars quite a few Knokx Pro regulars such as Reno Anoa’I (Black Pearl), Joseph Parisi (VIP), Rikishi, and Danielle Kamela, who recently signed with WWE. No release date has been announced. You can see the trailer here.

Joe Graves who has appeared for both PCW and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, suffered a torn bicep and will be out of action for six-months.

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood has added Alexander Hammerstone versus Ryan Taylor to their June 26th show. Their July 10th show will be their big “Red Carpet Rumble” show headlined by Scorpio Sky challenging Peter Avalon for the Hollywood Heritage Championship.

Chelsea Green, who will be wrestling against Holidead on June 24th for Vendetta Pro and against Shotzi Blackheart on June 26th’s Championship Wrestling from Hollywood taping, announced today that she has signed with TNA.

A quick update on Matt Sinister. He is said to be doing much better but still on oxygen. If you wish to donate to his GoFundMe you can do so here.
