SoCal News & Notes 06/15/2016

Welcome to another edition of what was named one of the ten greatest news and notes columns focusing on Southern California professional wrestling in the western United States, SoCal News & Notes.

PCW has announced Sami Callihan and Brian Cage as the first two wrestlers for their August 20 show in Torrance. In addition to wrestling on the show, Sami Callihan will be holding a two hour wrestling seminar prior to the PCW show. More information on the seminar is available at PCW’s website.

Vendetta Pro has announced former WWE Tough Enough contestant Chelsea Green will be taking on Holidead on their June 24th all women’s show. Chelsea Green in addition to being on Tough Enough has also appeared for Stardom and TNA. I believe this will be her SoCal debut.

Mike Camden vs. Devin Sparks has been added to June 18th’s Baja Stars USA show in San Diego.

San Diego’s FCW has plans to add a women’s title down the line in addition to their previously announced tag-team titles.

The winner of the match between Lil’ Cholo, Willie Mack, and Famous B on June 18th’s FCW show will get a chance to wrestle for the XRT championship on July 22nd’s FCW show. Danny Limelight is the current champion and Corey Jackson will be challenging for the title on June 18th.

Knokx Pro has announced they will be returning to Chula Vista this year for a show. While no date or venue has been announced, they ran at the Chula Vista Boys & Girls Club in October 2015.

Knokx Pro’s Primal is accepting bookings outside of Knokx Pro. If anyone is interested in booking him he can be contacted at bigprimaljoe@gmail.com.

There is currently a GoFundMe to help raise money for a possible AWS come back. The GoFundMe was created by Captain Comic Con with a goal of reaching $2,500. While not created by AWS promoter Bart Kapitzke, the campaign has his blessing and has stated if it reaches its goal AWS would definitely run a few more shows.

Alpha Omega Wrestling will be making its return to Hilton Garden Inn in Victorville on July 10th. This will be their first show in Victorville since January, which has been one of their more successful locations.
