Lucha Underground News and Notes 10/22

“Cannot wait until this place is filled with crazed believers!”

Chris DeJoseph.

If you build it they will come.  I have a sneaking suspicion that DeJoseph isn’t the only one who’s excited to see two photos from the resurrection of the Lucha Underground set.  Tickets haven’t been made available yet, but the shows are scheduled to start taping soon.

More Women to the Temple?
Speaking of Chris DeJoseph, the writer for Lucha Underground was in attendance at the recent Stardom USA shows.  Executive producer of Lucha Underground Eric Van Wagenen recently was interviewed and mentioned that Lucha Underground would be looking to expand its female division.  Could DeJoseph scouting ladies for the Underground?

Underground Star to Retire
Known as Ezekiel Jackson in the WWE the final ECW World Champion has officially retired from professional wrestling.  He is fulfilling his contracted obligations this weekend in Germany from WXW.  Rycklon Stephens or Big Ryck became the cigar smoking boss of The Crew (until they put the cigar out in his eye) and was one of the largest most intimidating athletes in the Temple.

For those keeping score at home, this is at least the third wrestler who will not be returning to Lucha Underground Season 2.  Last week we reported on El Patron’s lack of interest in returning to the Temple as well as the dismissal of Hernandez who got in hot water working for TNA while under contract.

Meet the Women of the Underground
Last week we shared the announcement that you could see Melissa Santos Friday Night at the Wrestling Guy Store Friday,  from 7-9pm. “The Voice of Lucha Underground” will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans. All autographs are $10 and photo ops are $10.  Saturday you can visit the World Famous Frank and Son’s Collections this weekend to see Karlee Leilani Perez also known as Catrina.  Courtesy of Clutch City Productions, Gemini Sportscards welcomes the former WWE Diva and TNA Knockout, who will be appearing from 11am to 2pm.  Prices for autographs or photos are $20, or a combination for $30.
