San Jose, Ca – The influence of independent wrestling on the mainstream wrestling product has been undeniable as stars like Brian “American Dragon” Danielson, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and Brian “Spanky” Kendrick have changed the perceptions of independent wrestling and shattered the pre-conceived notions of what the larger wrestling audience was looking for. Passion, talent, and dedication that shined so bright on the small stage, that it brought them to the biggest stages in the world. Long before that though, these men were all handpicked by a legendary wrestling promoter to participate in a groundbreaking tournament meant to shine a spotlight on the talent of California. That man was Roland Alexander, and that tournament is King Of Indies.
The revolutionary tournament gave a widely acknowledged blueprint to aspiring independent wrestling promotions like Ring Of Honor and it’s widely circulated video release captured the imagination of fans around the world.
