This is Draven UnScripted with a recap of the House of Hardcore event from the Harrah’s Rincon in San Diego, ca on Saturday June 14th.
Joey Ryan def. Tommaso Ciampa with a “Walk Off” Superkick in a solid opening contest.
Next was The Masterlock Challenge as Former WWE Star “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters made his way to the ring. He talked about that he’s not a “Hardcore” guy but The Masterlock is still one of the most devastating holds in wrestling. He then would challenge anyone in the back to see if they can break out of The Masterlock & WWE Legend Bushwacker Luke answered the call. After parading inside the ring, Masters was able to get him in the Masterlock & Luke wasn’t able to get out.
Next to come out was ECW Legend Balls Mahoney to a great reception but he too was unable to break out of it. Out comes Former WWE Intercontental Champion Rycklon Stephens (FKA Ezekiel Jackson) to try his luck. After these two stars would wrestle around, Masters got Stephens in the Masterlock but MMA star King Mo comes out to try his luck as well. In the end, King Mo was able to avoid being to put in The Masterlock & he was able to put Masters in a leg lock submission making Master tap out. It was announced that all 4 stars (Luke, Mahoney, Stephens & King Mo) were declare the winners. After the match, all 4 stars celebrated by doing the Bushwacker walk in the ring for the fans.
Tag Team Match:
Rikishi & X-Pac def Matt Striker & Gangrel when Rikishi chokeslam Striker & deliver a seated senton (or sat on) Striker for the win. After the match, the fans were chanting & all 4 stars decided to do Rikishi’s post match dance as all stars boogie down to a great pop from the crowd.
“Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce along with manager Jarek 120 came out to ringside for his scheduled contest only to have Jarek grab the mic saying that it wasn’t the proper ring announcement for a man who needs no introduction. Jarek was explaining who he is as the fans were chanting “Who are you” as he is the self proclaim wrestling only Illusionists & Escape artist.
“Hardcore” Bob Holly def “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce with the Alabama Slam for the victory.
Mike Bennett (with Maria Kanellis) def Lance Storm with a Spear. Afterwards, the crowd chanted for Storm as he gave them his gratitude & did his pose for the crowd.
Mil Mascaras def “The Hardcore Kidd” Aaron Aguilera with a Flying Crossbody from the top rope.
Semi-Main Event Triple Threat Extreme TLC Match:
Matt Hardy (w/Reby Sky) def Carlito (w/Big Duke & Entourage) & “The Innovator of Violence” Tommy Dreamer (w/Terry Funk & Candice Michelle) when Hardy deliver a Side Effect on Carlito through a table for the win. After, the crowd paid their respects by chanting for Dreamer & Carlito on a great match.
Main Event Tag Team Match:
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) def Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) with The Young Buck’s “More Bang for your Bucks” finisher on Daniels.
After the match, The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Saggs) came out to pay their respects to both teams saying they’re the future of Tag Team Wrestling. After showing both teams respect, The Nasty Boys attacked both teams until The Sandman’s music hit & as he made his way to the ring, it detracted the Nasty Boys long enough for The Bucks & Bad Influence to return the favor to The Nasty Boys. Thus allowing Bad Influence, The Bucks & The Sandman to celebrate with Beer after it was all over.
As Sandman made his way to the fans to celebrate, Tommy Dreamer also came out to pay respects to both teams on a amazing main event and ending the event. But after the event, WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper did his podcast with fellow stars: Jarek 120, Matt Striker, Terry Funk, Tiny “Zeus” Lister & MMA Legend Don Frye in the ring & the fans were able to stay for the show.
House of Hardcore was a decent show with a great crowd who really got into the matches, cheering, booing & chanting throughout the night. As to my Matches of the Night, these one’s really had the crowd going, great chemistry all around:
Bad Influence vs Young Bucks
Hardy vs Dreamer vs Carlito
Ryan vs Ciampa
I believe this event will be turned into a DVD to be purchased at a later date, you can visit: http://www.houseofhardcore.net/ for details
