This is Draven UnScripted with a recap of the debut show of I Am Pro Wrestling which took place on Sunday, April 27th 2014 in Van Nuys, Ca.
Your ring announcer for the evening was Mark “Guido” Mancini.
Crimson def Darkness with a Leg drop from the top rope. Afterwards, a surprised & upset Darkness chased Crimson back to the back area.
Frankie “Destruction” Dee def The Golden Fury with a Low Blow & hit a Michinoku Driver for the victory in this entertaining match.
Killa Gorilla def Max Ammo with a Front Slam. Afterwards, Gorilla grab the mic & proclaimed that he’s the best super heavyweight in all of professional wrestling today.
Before the next match up, Mancini brings up Christian Rosenberg to the ring to talk about how much they both hate Van Nuys & can’t wait to leave. Rosenberg stated that he flew from Miami only to watch his friend “The Real Deal” JJ Steel become the new I Am Pro Champion & celebrate like The Miami Heat.
No DQ, No Count-out Fatal 4 way:
Team Hi Def (“Golden Heart” Drake Fortune & “The High Flying Sensation” Steven Andrews) def Global Assault (“Shogun of Harlem” Jimi Mayhem & Mr. Tanaka), The Step Family (“The Drunk Uncle” Ronnie Tucker & “Red Headed Stepchild” Buford Tucker) & “Heartthrob” Evan James & Ryan J. Morals when Andrews pinned James for the victory.
As we return from intermission & ready for our next contest, Mancini introduces “The Original Mr. Wonderful” Rock Riddle to the ring as his private security escorted him to the ring. He takes the mic & says he feels that no one here is honored to see his greatness in the ring & no one in the back would dare challenge him until Jacob Tarasso comes out.
“The Original Mr. Wonderful” Rock Riddle (w/Goldigger) def Jacob Tarasso when Goldigger threw her drink into Tarasso’s face allowing Riddle to give him a Low Blow & roll up for the win. Afterwards, Riddle continue to stomp on Tarasso & Riddle’s own security escorted Tarasso to the back as Riddle received heat from the crowd.
“The Anit-Hero” Spectre def JaFuri w/”Spectre Driver” Death Valley Driver for the win. Afterwards, Killa Gorilla & Jacob Tarasso both attacked Spectre until I Am Pro’s Commissioner Ric Drasin orders referees & security to break this up. Tarasso screams at Drasin he’s upset that both he & Gorilla are not in main event caliber matches & Drasin decides to make everyone happy so he announces at the next show Jacob Tarasso vs Killa Gorilla vs Spectre vs Winner of the I Am Pro Championship match in a Fatal 4 way for the championship.
Main Event for the I Am Pro Championship:
“The Real Deal” JJ Steel def Brian Kendrick with a devastating Piledriver to be crown the 1st I Am Pro Champion.
This evening’s debut show for I Am Pro was a good one. The place was small but got a good amount of fans in attendance. Mancini drew some heat from the fans since he’s not your traditional ring announcer as well as commentator Christian Rosenberg got a “Rosie” chant from the crowd. But overall the show was good & I’ll be looking forward to the next show. As to my Matches of the Night, I felt these matches were the ones that got a great reaction from the fans & had the overall chemistry in the ring:
