This is Draven UnScripted with a recap of last nights Empire Wrestling Federation show at the VFW in City of Industry, Ca on Friday, April 18th 2014.
Show starts off with ring announcer Ben Tomas welcomes everyone to the show & introduces your commentators Wade Needham & Matt Sinister as we get ready for some wrestling action.
“The Blade” Chris Bryant def The Power Ninja with an F-5 finisher in a nice opening contest & an impressive debut for the young Bryant.
Brute Baretto (w/Walt “Wizeone” Zeman) def Danny Ghost with a Spinebuster finisher.
Ring announcer Ben Tomas informs the fans that due to illness, Luchador Datura is unable to make it to the show to face her opponent, Terra Calaway. Terra makes her way to talk to the fans until Jacob Tarasso starts heckling her. He then proceeds to tell her that she needs to leave the ring so “Wrestlers” can use it. By this point, she’s upset & ready to face Tarasso in a match but he doesn’t want anything to do with her until Deputy Director Johnny Starr comes out & make the match official.
“The Terra-dactyl” Terra Calaway def Jacob Tarasso by DQ when Tarasso repeatedly bashed Calaway’s leg into the ring post.
EWF American Championship:
“Uptown” Andy Brown def Friar Juan Roman with a High Knee to win the match & retain the championship as we head into intermission at this time.
While in intermission, Richie Slade who was in attendance had some words for Andy Brown as he vows he’ll defeat him & become the New American Champion at the EWF Anniversary show on May 2nd in Covina, Ca.
Prince Raccid Najjar (w/Uday Ukleja & Abu the Terrible) def “The Overnight Celebrity” RJ Ruiz with a Pedigree finisher with a distraction from Uday & Abu.
Main Event:
EWF Champion “The Mega King” Thomas I (w/Walt “Wizeone” Zeman) & “The Original Mr. Wonderful” Rock Riddle (w/Golddigger) def “Ironman” Mike Maze & Patient Zero (w/Botch) when the ref is distracted with Maze, Thomas clothesline Patient Zero on the top rope & Riddle cradle Zero for the 3 count. Afterwards, an upset Ironman Mike Maze says at the Anniversary show, he’ll close the lid on their Casket Match & recapture the EWF Championship from Thomas as he clutches his championship.
This evening’s EWF show raised money for the Hacienda Heights Girls Fastpitch Softball team. The event was pretty good with attendance was full as all of EWF’s loyal fans arrived to support their promotion. As to my Matches of the Night, I felt that these matches really stood out with some great hard hitting action & chemistry:
Brute Baretto vs Danny Ghost
Andy Brown vs Friar Roman
Thomas/Riddle vs Maze/Patient Zero
I also want to say that this evening’s event saw the debut of “The Blade” Chris Bryant & I must say I was impressed. This kid has a great look (imagine a young Sting without the facepaint) & his match wasn’t bad either. I see a future for this kid, so if you see him on an EWF event, check him out & I think you’ll all be impressed by him, too.
EWF’s next event in their Anniversary show on Friday, May 2nd in Covina, ca. For details, visit the Socaluncensored’s event page to see the full card & info.
So until next time, this is Mike Draven….signing off.
